I have to say Layne Staley is one of my favorites.
I think what sticks out about him is that, No matter what was going on in his life, you could listen to him sing and know exactly. Kurt Cobain would have ended up like Layne if he hadn't committed suicide/Been murdered (Depending on what you believe)
Worn down and destroyed by the drugs that once inspired him
Probably to this day one of the greatest live performances of all time.
That man had 1 foot in the grave and he could still sing like that. Unreal
Bradley Nowell, Another of my favorites.
Simply an amazing amazing singer. That man had one of the most amazing voices I think ive ever heard.
Brad was awesome at telling stories, He could give a story with the grimmest subject matter life and make it sound beautiful.
Very sad, I think the moral of both stories (And many others in rocknroll) is
Stay the fuck away from heroin...........................

Andrew Wood is another of my favorites
Another heroin casualty.........
For those of you who don't know, he was the original singer for the group that is now known as pearl jam.
When he died MOTHER LOVE BONE became Pearl jam he was replaced with Eddie Vedder
^ Probably one of the greatest "Seattle sound" songs of all time.....
What I would give to see them preform it live
How many 90's babies were named Chloe because of this song..

Excellent
Raw music is such a rarity these days
Record companies and radio stations care more about how cool you are than anything else.
That growl is pretty insane to lmao

My favorites of all time are the Seattle grunge Gods -- Staley is amazing, but Chris Cornell remains my top singer ever. An amazing song with Cornell, Jerry Cantrell, Layne Staley, and Mark Arm on vocals:
My other favorite is Dax Riggs of Acid Bath, Agents of Oblivion, Deadboy and the Elephantmen, etc. Such a cool and psychedelic voice.
