ID Request - Several Species
    #26380932 - 12/14/19 08:58 AM (4 years, 1 month ago)

Hey all. I was here about 1.5 weeks ago with the 200+ old, angry Psi. Allini. I'm going back today to see if any new flushes have popped up. In the meantime, the same area has experienced non-stop rain in that span...literally. I went back on Wednesday, and this is what I found:

All of these are in San Francisco, wood chips, daily manicured area.

There were about 50-75 of these little guys spread out over 2-3 different areas. They look non-active, but I thought I'd at least ask since I've found multiple species of actives all within the same 200 square yard spot.

This is the only flush I found of these guys. If you need more info, I'll pluck 'em today and post pics.

There are hundreds upon hundreds of these bright colored bad boys all over the place right now. My amateur research says they could be in the Amanita family?

Finally, this is what the old, rotted out Allenii flush looked like on Wednesday. What's the likelihood that there will be new growth before it gets too cold?

The first photo is a psathyrella species. The red ones are Leratiomyces ceres. I'd definitely keep checking back, but more importantly, go check new spots!

Like sk8tnshrm sez, most of.your time should be spent searching for new patches. Time spent harvesting a known patch(es) shouldnt take up more than 10% of the time you spend hunting. That patch wont last forever...2-3 yrs is average at a given spot. Always have to be finding new patches...
