So i've read on here about side/bottoms pins are caused because the conditions are better than on top.
I had an unmodded tub with no liner that pulled away slightly and resulted in lots of side pinning.
This time i thought of trying a liner until I dial in my tubs (this is only my second tub).
I'm still getting side and bottom pins, poor photo but you can make them out.
When i read up about surface conditions it says to have water beads on top to initiate pinning and only mist once they have evaporated.
These 2 pics show my surface condition - no beads of water.

However after a list misting from above the water doesn't bead it kind of just make the surface look damp and moist but no beads and i've heard it should bead up not pool.

Would putting wax paper on top help with surface pinning?
My tub is a B+ ms syringe to a 1lb BRF cake crumbled up with a horse manure and straw bulk substrate it has been about 3 weeks since spawning, no casing layer.

Mushrooms grow a little towards light. Using clear plastic instead of blacked out won't help.

Check out this thread by shaper.. https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/26009662 Really helped me out... In my case I found alot of my tubs that developed crazy side pinning was when my sub was way to wet.Ive since been prepping my substrates on the drier side of "field capacity" with a quick spray/wetting of surface and have been seeing much better results.

Bit of a catch 22 there though...if I use a black liner I wont be able to see if I have any side/bottom pins.
Have you/anyone here had good results with wax paper?
I also thought it could be my sub too wet but then read that I should have beads of water on the surface so again a bit stuck which direction to go.
Thanks Zifozonke I'll have a read of that one.

Take a flashlight and shine it on the substrate at a angle to check the surface conditions. That’s the easiest way until u get a eye for it.

Im no pro-but when I started here I just followed bods EAF teks...Ive never used liners...check bods grows out...if you get it right there really is no use for them-some like them for ease of removing sub in and out for harvest ect...but hey DONT listen to me-rather EXPERIMENT and find what works for YOU... All roads lead to Rome... Or in this case-if successfull...many
