could this be P. cinctulus?
    #26380431 - 12/14/19 12:51 AM (4 years, 2 months ago)

was thinking these were P.papilionaceus  but the more these guys matured the more the edges became transparent. It looks like a few might be getting a flat/umbo shape cap now and the spore prints are jet black. input is much appreciated .

Could you post a closeup of the gills, taken using flash?

this is a younger specimen and has 3 intermediate gills and then one that goes straight to the stipe. they appear grayish when first picked but as it dries and drops spore becomes pitch black

Definitely a Panaeolus due to the inaequihymeniiferous gills, and probably in the P. papilionaceus group due to the veil remnants on the cap margin.

These are from the same flower pot as in this thread, right?

Definitely something around P. papilionaceus. P. cinctulus doesn't have a veil.
