There's a patch of A. muscaria that pops up just before Christmas in my neighborhood. I'm thinking I'm going to harvest a few this year. Anyone have any experience? I'm definitely going to dry them out then might make a tincture or water extract

Take enough. Over a half ounce.

shit really I was thinking of starting small like 5g and see where i go from there. Also would like to have a tincture so I could theoretically incrementally dose just a bit by bit

I’m sure you’ll find a few threads on these forums about experiences with this mushroom as well as teks on how to prepare and dose tinctures.
Here’s a good one; https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/20643485/fpart/all/vc/1
I made a tincture a few years back (50/50, pure ethanol/purified water) with a HUGE amount of powdered dried caps sitting in there (shaken from time to time) for a few days & eventually strained.
Never got around to trying it though. Just don’t see the point in experimenting with it when I have an abundant supply of psilocybe shrooms. Also I have no idea how potent the mixture is. I guess it’s more of a novelty item for me at this point.
Still looks and smells the same as it did the day it was strained. It has a rosy red apperence & a very earthy forest like smell...
Please share your experience if you do get around to trying it.

Supposedly the whole organ damage thing is blown out of proportion by mycophobic people or is only a concern when taking enormous doses. I also have an abundance of cubies so my interest with A. muscaria is really not to trip - I've got psilocybin for that and it works great. I'd like to experiment with smaller doses for first any recreational effect then to see where those doses take me in the dream world. I've heard large doses can be hellish and angelic simultaneously but small to medium doses can produce incredibly comfortable sensations - I'm interested in that. Also inspired by finding these beautiful presents beneath christmas trees this time of year. That tincture seems pretty interesting to me
