I just ordered 100 grams of Peruvian Organic Caapi Yage Aya Powder Tea. I was wondering if anyone could give me any advice on the best way to use this. I've herd it helps to treat depression, plus I would very much like to experience the insight that you're supposed to obtain from it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
-Thanks again!

Any specific questions?
If you're wondering about how to brew it or dosage, Im not sure
If you're wondering how to get the most out of a trip in general, I'd suggest taking up a meditation practice for at least a few weeks prior. It can help you get familiar with peculiar mental states, and also help you practice "letting go" of thoughts and not getting attached to them or stuck in a loop, which is the root of many challenging trips.
The newer research at Hopkins has been suggesting that meditation seems to almost prime your brain to get more out of the experience and go deeper. The differences being subjectively in the experience itself and also objective in fMRI results.
Otherwise, set and setting of course. Expect to be fairly incapacitated, expect bodily fluids, have a sitter nearby if possible. I always find it helps to read something or listen to a podcast about the substance I'm using the morning of, usually something about the history of it. When things get rolling it can sometimes feel like you're all alone and reality is falling apart, but having it fresh in your mind that it's something people have been doing for healing purposes for thousands of years can help redirect some of that.
I know there's a special diet many people follow prior, which many believe enhances the experience and also helps prevent any possible MAOI dangerous interactions, so you can look into that if you haven't already
Some people set intentions, some don't. Beforen tripping I personally like to go for a brisk walk, then dose, then do 15 minutes or so of yoga/stretching, then kick back and just meditate until the action starts. At that point if the dose is big enough usually any plans I made for the trip go out the window
Sorry for the long post if you just had questions about the tea. I'm lining up my own big trip in a couple weeks and thinking things through for myself at the moment as well

Thanks for the advice feevers! I appreciate the insight on how to approach this. To be more clear I was wondering how much should I use (again I have 100 grams) for the dosage, also is it best to mix the powder with tea? (I've herd of people using milk because of the fat content (?). This is one of the only psychedelics I haven't used so I'm very much looking forward to it.
Thanks again and good luck on your upcoming adventure!!! :-)
