so I'm just about to go to bed, I let the cats in, lock the doors, shut the lights off ect when I see a car parked in front of my house. I mean, my driveway is like 150ft (I live out of town) so it's not exactly right in front but it's not something that has happened aside from quick 5 min stops here and there over the almost 5 years I've been here. I could probably count those instances on one hand. this one feels a little weird so I stay up. the car is running for almost 3 hours. at this point I'm a little irritated. I almost feel like they're waiting for me to go to bed. So I shut all the lights off again and make like I'm going to bed. Car starts moving very very slowly, this is literally within 60 seconds of shutting the lights off. It gets just out of my farthest view, then stops and reverses slowly and stops at the end of my driveway. It's 1:50am right now and I basically just got in. Anyway it stops and I'm like "nah" and grab my flashlight and head out the door. I point it at the car, noting what it looks like. "Can I help you?" I say loudly and without any sense of friendliness. They stop the car. I walk up and I can see this little shit look at me and give this "oh here we go" kind of smirk. "I'm wondering what the fuck you're doing." "I'm not on your property." I say " you're parked in front of my house and on my driveway I'm well within my rights to see what the fuck you're doing." "We thought we saw some deer" he says timidly and as if he's making an excuse, eyes refusing to react to the flashlight I'm pointing in his face like an asshole. I'm looking for an addict because I have treacherous addict family that thieve this way with their junkie friends. He certainly had the face of a meth addict. I can tell you now there ain't no fucking deer tonight, there's a full moon . I then explain to him what I saw, tell him "people get robbed around here all the fucking time." He assures me hes not scoping the place out. I say it looked sketchy as fuck and he agreed. He then says he was talking with his friend. I said i thought you were looking at deer. He is clearly lying, hiding something. I end the conversation saying I dont believe you, then I look at his license plate and walk away. he never did give an explanation as to why he backed up and stopped in my driveway
I should add that, where I live having someone parked outside your house is weird. I live on a dirt road. Like a literal dirt road. Technically you could call it gravel but it's mostly dirt. There isn't even a shoulder to park on. Hindsight impressions, he was cheating in his girlfriend or getting high. But then again that doesn't explain why it left when I turned the lights off and why it reversed back and in to my driveway.
