How can I control my trich issue
    #26375227 - 12/11/19 02:51 PM (4 years, 1 month ago)

I had two colonizing bins get Trich a few days ago. I did not check on them as much as I should have so It spored. I tossed them both. This morning I looked at my 15 qt bin and I see some weird white growth, after I looked around online I saw it was Trich before it spores. Then I looked on the bottom and saw that green devil sporing. Keep in mind this bin just finished flush 1 yesterday. and now it has like a 3 inch mold spot.

I am going to toss my bin. I have a martha so I'll take everything out and just douse that in bleach/water solution. What should I do to make sure I get this under control? Should I spray bleach all over my room? I do all my myco work in one room. I do have Ozium I can spray into the air but idk if that takes care of mold it only says bacteria.

Does anyone have tips or is that all I can do and just hope for the best. Should I clean it once and just put the room out of order and clean it a few times.

I think I know how I got the contam and its not something I will do again. It was just a test of something I never have done before. a bunch of spawn got contamed also a bag that looked clean was spawned but it easily could have not been clean since that bin had contam later on. Its whatever I just need to get rid of it.

My normal tek is fine I just need to know if that is enough to get rid of the trich spores. I do not want to start more bins untill I can feel safe it, I don't want money down the drain, Especially that im moving onto agar and grains next week, Or I was going to.

So you are saying the room is fine? or after I clean it it will be?

and Yes I have agar stuff in the mail coming friday and that is when I planned to make plates and get agar going. I had it ordered for a week now but they just shipped it today.

A bin that was fully colonized and done with the flush flush caught the trich so thats what concerned me the most.

and I use a SAB so idk what you mean by that. This is not my first grow I have had like 50+ successful shoeboxes so far and I wanted to move onto monos, thats why I have gain and agar coming.

Trich doesn't ruin your grow area

Does it ruin your work area? Mine are the same. but nonetheless I'll just clean and hope for the best. Like you said agar will be good. Sorry I am a noob.

Ionic filters are cheap and they are supposed to drop particles out of the air so they can be wiped up. I get mold from time to time but it doesn't carry over usually unless I'm being sloppy. I use one when I work. It's no substitute for good sterile technique but it's cheap peace of mind and it comes with my air filtration.
