Even tho the lid of the large container melted... plastic as insulator works.

I can just use a towel or something as lid instead.
I used an infrared laser gun to measure the temperature of the exterior of the PC, pointing right at the warning sticker of the All American, I took the large container out when it was at 50 grades centigrades.

I use the half gallon (I think) pickle jars. It holds 8. So I can fit 3 of them (24plates) and the a quart jar with 5-6. So total is 30 give or take. I am only getting condensation on few top ones. The Berlin plates are not as good by visibility standards as the HG. But they are just as nice every other aspect and they still are visible.

kool stuff that was what I finally decided I was going to do for my first round of them. Are you using a lid on those 1/2 gal jars?

Yeah I put lid on and seal them before I put in PC. It's pretty easy to get them out too. Just unscrew and lift jar straight up. The qt jar was not as smooth coming out. I even done this with my 2oz deli cups and they worked great. No condensation besides top one or two. . So I just wrapped my last few in foil and put that glass measuring cup on top to keep it balanced. Wasn't trying to get them out of the quart again.

Nice! Did you do anything special to insulate them while cooling? Take them out of the PC at a particular time? I did that thing with the cloth towels but am curious how necessary it was.

Mine are big pickle jars. With the big mouths. I did get some in qt jar but was hard to get out. I take mine out hour after pressure is down. Take out of the pickle jars and stack them back up evenly. I make a tall stack and put a lid on top with towel on the lid. Idk if that's right way but it works pretty good for me with condensation.

Test fit on mine a little tight but can PERFECTLY fit 4 into 16oz wide mouth. (which makes it so i can do 16 at a time in my tiny 6-8qt PC)
Is there any reason other than ease of extraction for putting the jar upside down? Because of the taper at the bottom they have to be upright to fit 4... will i have any issues?
My order from Beebeecraft came in today ... on a holiday no less. impressed with DHL and beebee. Ended up being 1.15$ each... would order from them again. The lids look pretty clear to me

Not, really, that's the only reason i can think of.
So, the Beebeecraft product is exactly the same product as the OP amazon link but with DHL rapid delivery?

Looks exactly the same. Ziplock 8pack bag bottom bar code 041191-* I ordered during the new year so not sure if they upgraded shipping or always send this way. chose free shipping method on a 50$ -5$ coupon order.

In my experience the HG plates that had some condensation, dried as quickly even with the lid all the way closed

Ok I tried something different this time. I said fuck it I’m not using an outer container as I see no difference in condensation when using one. I see the difference with the heated plates on top of each plate. So what I did is the normal routine. An hour after pc pressure has dropped while the pc is still warm, I took the plates out. And I had two 5 stacks. I took the two top plates with most condensation and put them at the bottom of the stack to cool. Let’s see how it works.

That's great, tell us how it worked out.
Even tho the lid of these large containers were not pp5, they still are good as clean totes to store HG petris. This will help to avoid the post-sterilization condensation that forms by my wide room temp fluctuations.

I’m sorry the two top plates on each stack. So the top 4 plates were placed at the bottom.

I've been using small mason jars as petri dishes. They work but, take up so much space, the lids cast a dark shadow & "jelly jar" pattern makes it hard to see details. Just received my set. I love you Holy Grail.. sorry mason not coming back. Awesome discovery & tek! Thank you Mr. Alien!

I don't see the large 2+ inch frosted models on amazon and they all look to be flip up lids instead of screw on lids.

I had the same situation. Do a google search for pp5 screw lid bead containers.. there are a few vendors. About 60c each..

There are only two sources of the same product and both are out of stock
here is the second one.

Ok I checked my plates. I get the same results with or without a container on the outside. As long as the plates are stacked. Moving the top 4 plates to the bottom did absolutely nothing.
