I am not sure exactly what the difference between P. baeocystis and P. quebecensis is.  They certainly look like P. aztecorum to me.

Macroscopically P. baeocystis has a pleated cap in maturity.    I do not see that in your collections or in P. aztecorum.

I have only leaned that way Alan as I have come to discover this species is cespitose where as quebecensis claim to be "rarely" cespitose. All though I do realize quebecensis has not been documented that much!
I also agree with you that they very much resemble P. aztecorum

A lot of Psilocybes are cespitose when they are given a whole lot of food.

I agree. I said it once before and I'll say it again, certainly in the section Aztecorum, with a lot of similarity to P. aztecorum macroscopically. Amazing finds. Keep 'em comin'!

I am saving specimens for research and to gage potency (yes I'm going to eat some) , but I am willing to send out some prints to any interested parties, lets go with the first 6 to inbox me for now, keep in mind I'm getting into cultivating this year so the favour may be asked to be returned, if it is possible!!

I would be hitting you up right now, but I don't even have agar or anything. I want them to go to folks who can really do something with them.

3 day progress pics. on the immature ones I left.

They had started to dry up a bit so I watered them and covered them over with a milk crate with a board on top to keep the sunlight off them.

Pretty sure your finds are P. aztecorum.

Psilocybe quebecensis is synonymous with P. aztecorum, and the name P. aztecorum is 10 years older so it takes precedence.

DNA sequences of the holotype of Psilocybe quebecensis and my collection from Mexico match 100%: MF828582 vs MH858936

Wolfedawwg, I would love to have a print if you come across this again. I would like very much to see the microtaxonomy of this species.

Thanks for the spores man:irishtoast:

Had some results this fall from your genetics

This species has very rhizormorphic mycelium. Quite aggressive species likes a variety of wood chips and forest debris.
