How long to wait for pins?

So I’m about 15 days post mixing and my tub has been fully colonized for ~7 days. How long do I wait until this thing just isn’t going to pin? It smells good to me but I still see no knotting or signs of pins.

Pins usually come right about now, if all's well. Two weeks after spawning is a good estimate.

It also has that smooth look of doom, like you spilled some paint in there. Healthy mycelium has a textured, fuzzy, different looking surface.

Booooo... lol. Well shit. It was very wet so I opened up the air quite a bit a fewdays ago and have been misting periodically. I guess the only good thing is that I have some grains sterilized and some agar plates that should be ready to transfer to them in a few days. This was my first monotub attempt from a spore syringe. Maybe I’ll have better luck using agar wedges.

Yes that is a good plan, me thinks.
These damn mushrooms. So delicate. Everything has to be just tickety boo or they shit the bed.
Ive had to tighten the regimen here in my gross basement. Only inoculate grain from perfect looking agar plates. Perfect, uniform, symmetrical growth.
I don't know that your tub is a goner. You might still get something.
How wet was really wet when you took the lid off? Its supposed to be pretty wet in there. Like, condensation all over probably and droplets on the surface.
Maybe spray it and see if it recovers to surface with a bit softer texture at least. If that doesn't work, and you have the time and space, people used to talk about scratching the surface to kind of get it to grow in again.
Or you could even try flipping the sub. The bottom won't have been too dry likely and may not be ruined.
But, those are pretty sketchy solution. Best way is right the first time.
