I've heard anything from .5% up to 1% and would just like some confirmation so I know what way fo slide before I make up a bunch of LC...

I’d also like to know, just got a big bag of lme.
From what I’ve been reading I’m leaning towards .5.

Ya but theres this TC that swears by 1% and has some thick ass LC's, hes basically the reason I'm even asking...
So I just figured if a TC is getting good results with 1%, and he obviously knows what hes doing and a bunch of people have success with .5%, I'll just shoot for .7%...
Nust made a bunch of 500ml jars with 3.5 Gs of LME...
we shall see...

Other research would indicate that mycelium doesn't care all that much and you can practically eyeball it. This much I have proven with agar and lc is just 3 dimensional agar.

I await your result. I officially put my forum dollars on no difference if same culture goes in both.

Your poll has no lower figure! I have said in many threads that Workman from sporeworks recommended 0.1-0.5%

Wow that’s crazy it sounds like you could just sprinkle some lme into the media bottle. Makes sense though cuz low percentage agar encourages faster growth right?

it can be faster as in the growth outward per mm per day, but might not be as dense. Its said to be stretching out looking for more nutrient sources. In weak LCs I find it does the same, and because it grows outwards it tends not to be as dense and easier to break up and easier to suck up into syringes.
If people do not have a good scales, or any scales then it is easier to go weak, and safer, as too strong and it would not grow at all.

Ya I never heard of anyone using anything less than .5%, guess that was just ignorant of me. Sorry man, too late to edit the poll now, I just tried 😔

But would you say anything under 1% is not "too" much?

Its very rare to hear of people using it that low, so nothing to be sorry about! it's news to most people. I thought it was a typo when I saw him say it first but he confirmed it.

Yeah, I would say 4% is the max people should use, but just easier to use less, makes it clearer too.
