8 billion plus people could not sustain themselves as subsistence farmers. There would be the most massive famines the world has ever known.
Nor could potable water be dispersed and shelter as we expect it to be would soon crumble. Sewage would overflow. Disease would spread. Healthcare would grind to a stop. Pharmaceuticals wouldn’t be available. People would freeze to death. And more.

No compelling argument in my mind to ban it outright, because the risks involved make it a single factor in the aftermath of one of those three risk variables, whereas those three variables themselves are more likely to be caused by energy crisis and consumption itself which nuclear power is an alleviant of.
Cutting off gas lines and freezing bank accounts for geo-political strategy is a more direct means of getting a nation to comply and conform to the larger international directive, and nuclear power can empower a nation to be self sufficient - so there are barriers to entry in order to keep that power in the hands of those with the power to influence international direction.
As long as oil and international credit accessibility remain a viable means of preventing social collapse and warfare for a nation or faction, there will continue to be forces at play creating barriers of entry to nuclear power, and part of creating these barriers to entry involve persuading everyone on the dangers of allowing entry. Even foregoing nuclear energy yourself in order to rationalize denial to perceived or real competition is a tactical victory if your side has access to the other influences of power.
The dangers of nuclear independence are real from a strategic standpoint if your team holds power, both as energy alone and coupled with nuclear weapons technology. A nation which is self empowered through it's own energy production and also able to separate itself from the international credit system is a stronger threat in conflict, as a larger power in opposition is less able to cut off supply lines to bring the power to the negotiating table.
Nuclear power wont be widely accepted everywhere until systems are put in place and mature enough to ensure that access to nuclear energy does not make a power strategically independent.
Nuclear power is potentially disastrous but fossil fuels are certainly disastrous.

Heres an article about the different types of reactors and what's being worked on as we stand now. No surprise.china seems to be going all in with this and were still burning coal. Thanks trump and retarded anti nuke environmentalist. https://www.technologyreview.com/s/612940/the-new-safer-nuclear-reactors-that-might-help-stop-climate-change/

So tell all the coal companies they gotta pull all the money out of coal and put it into clean shit or ur going to fucking jail for like 30 years and taking the money for you knowingly destroying the world for profit this whole time. Then the workers can be free to just get new jobs that are prob alot cushier than a coal mine.

Im down for some nuclear power, as long as the plant ia not right next to the city Im living in. Keep it in a remote area and it will be allllll gooooood.
Then theres this new super smart kid who is building a safer, smaller, modular-style fission reactors. Exciting stuff!

I'm as much interested in nuclear disasters as I am in nuclear power.

Honestly id rather look at a stupid reactor than some giant wind turbine or solar field. in the extremely unlikely even of some catastrophic full core meltdown ud prob just get like evacuated and then like theyd buy you a new house or something.
Check out this absolutely raw reactor from 01'

True that.
I just remembered that nuclear power plants are known to attract UFOs. So i think i will take that backyard nuclear power plant. Worth it

I hope it does. Time will tell!
I did some quick research and found this video. Apparently these types of reactors have a name: Small Modular Reactors or SMR. They could be the future of nuclear fission. Pretty exciting:

It is just steam created to power things and make people rich. Buy a toxic substance. Ask Japan or New Yorkers how much they love it or Russians.
Is simple if one does some research. There are better alternatives to it IMO.
