If I'm tired I always set an alarm on my phone just in case. You can't always bet on an oven or microwave timer to wake you from a deep sleep..
Also you should get fire alarms asap! They're not cheap but you never know what could go wrong. Freak accidents happen. Electrical panels in houses overheat seemingly out of the blue sometimes.

Anyway good thing you're okay sucks about the pc those things ain't cheap either.

Definitely getting smoke alarms asap, definitely before I get to buy another PC, I'm down to my original 16 quart presto. So true, it could have been so much worse. It was still so shiny and new, poor guy. Searching Facebook marketplace again. Found that 21 quart for $45 there.

Smoke alarms are a must in a kitchen, my girlfriend almost burned down the house a few weeks ago, neighbour saved the day cause he heard the alarm.

had to replace the top stove of the oven, so it was bad enough.

joint smoke dont trigger mine, PC venting can do sometimes, mixed feelings

RIP that poor PC, but i wanted to extend some positive vibes, very glad to hear that you only lost a PC and some grain! :loveheart: Tough lesson, but it could have been much worse.
