Can a monotub colonize for too long?

I’m looking to move my BRF cakes to a monotub for colonization this weekend (12/14). I am going to be out of town from 12/21-12/28. I am wondering if they will be in colonization for too long if I do it this weekend? Conversely, I could wait to move them over to my monotub closer to my departure date.. If I wait, should I freeze the cakes or just let them remain in the jar even though they’ve finished colonizing?
Please advise. I’m a noob doing his first cultivation.

Nothing wrong with letting cakes go, I've fruited spawn that was months old, I would spawn them to bulk now and if you get lucky you might have pins by the time you get back

What substrate to spawn ratio are you planning on using? One way to ensure that the bulk substrate doesn't colonize too quickly is to decrease your spawn:substrate ratio.

That's 2 weeks. That's about perfect colonization time. You're good.

Personally I would go ahead and spawn to your sub and let colonize until you are about to leave. I would then go ahead and put into fruiting conditions with minimum FAE (so it doesn't dry when you're gone) on the day you leave, they don't need to be 100% colonized to be put into fruiting conditions. When you get back you should hopefully have pins.
