do you aim for the side when you pour Qurik? I kinda splashed right center of the jars, and shook them all right after

No... from all 7 over the course of the last few days: cumulatively... and totally an estimate/likely a slight hyperbole... 1/2-3/4 maybe... still, too much lol

Doing some open air therapy trying to get the centers to pin...
Same thing done with this one last night for a few hours: seems to have done the trick

3... I know
Edit: semi-validation... I'm literally watching pinset encroach on the centers: been lightly misting just the center every 30-45 minutes with a fan passively drawing air out of the closet...

Only 2 pictured, but the other 3 are doing it as well... already dubtubbed the one from last night, and another further along I'm using for control...

Sorry guys... need to dose... BUT FOR ALL YOU GOURMET FANS... Cut the very top of these 2 days ago... as you can see, the increase in fae alone (upon full colonization (10-14 days typically) is enough to induce pinning without a temp drop... in fact, these would likely have pinned on they're own in another 4-10 days, without messing with them at all... few more small runs alread in rotation, but this will be the last of td he blues until spring... too ugly for me indoors, even though I've recieved no complaints... will do kings and shiitake through winter I suppose
Once the pins start to spread a bit, I cut the bag further down like this, and once the caps start forming and taking color, remove the rest of the bag, down to the top edge... taking one of these out of the bag completely to see how it behaves fruited like shiitake...
I give each bag a squeeze when I first cut them to exchange the air, being careful not to unfold it too much:
Little recycled cube sub test: shiitake side by side on new unsupplemented sawdust, and recycled cube subs (50/50 coir/BK)mixed with recycled fruiting blocks(blue oyster before?)

The recycled materials are already popcorned and beginning to brown, while the unsupplemented blocks are just finishing up colonization... interesting to see, to say the least... 10/31 is the inoculation date of the jar used as master: blocks were inoculated closer to mid November

Made a couple brf cakes just for fun. They take way too long but finally seeing some fruit. Knocked them up 10/23.

Two of my three PE shoeboxes. My first time growing these so did them all different. The one on the left I cased and fruited right before 100% colonization, itβs just now showing the first knots. the other I cased at the same time but let it sit another four days and just put it to fruiting.

The last one is uncased and still incubating. Probably gonna give it another few days then fruit it.

Agar is on the stove, the guy on the left is going to his own plate assuming I can get it without destroying him. Presumably z strain. The plate got a quick mist and is cracked slightly open to see what happens. (Gotta click to see).

Noticed this morning my African Transeki shoebox is side pinning like crazy and hasn't even pulled away from the walls yet. Surface is good so genetics? I'm leaving for the Bahamas tomorrow til Monday so I 'birthed it and set it in the GH at 85-95RH. Let's see what this pup looks like in 5 days. Might be a shitshow or could be really cool. It'll be fun to have in the back of my mind while I'm on the beach smoking local weed.

Kinda cool 5 days later but looks like it's gonna be small fruits.
