Lions Mane in capsules

My mom has neuropathy from her cancer treatments. I'm growing lions mane mushroom for her to help with that. I've been giving her the fruits as they've grown, but I would like her to be able to take it every day. If I dehydrate it and put it in capsules, will it retain it's medicinal benefits? Is there anything else I need to do to preserve it? Thanks!

I would dry the LM. Grind it to powder. Then boil it in a crock pot for about 12 hours. Use 1 cup of water per gram dried Mushroom. This ratio works fine for me with Reishi. Drain the water through a fine filter and convert it into ice cubes. It will keep for ages in the freezer. Just eating the LM as a mushroom or as powder won't release all the good stuff like beta-glucan polysaccharides from the cell walls. I would try out Reishi as well for your mom. It helps me massively with my arthritis. I finally got some LM on agar and hope to add it to my daily diet in the near future. 1 ice cube of Reishi per day is all I need. I take it out of the freezer the night before and ad the tincture to my green tea in the morning. Hope your mom will recover well.

Thank you so much! That was exactly what I was looking for. I had heard that the cell walls need to be broken down to get all of the nutrients out of it, but I wasn't sure how to do it. Thanks!

Hey, my dad got cancer and that’s what really got me wanting to grow reishi. I’m sorry about your mom, I’m glad she has such a kickass child.
One love ✌🏼

A gram per cup of water is not nearly enough. 5 grams of dried Lion's mane is what they used in studies which showed cognitive benefits.

I too have been wondering what is the ideal dried amount to have daily. Are there any links people might have to this?

Here is a study that had a regimen of 1 gram 3x daily. (I was wrong with my amount of 5g)

I'm just seeing this now. Thank you! I started growing Reishi last week - I've got some grain jars that I've inoculated. Also started some Maitake. Next will be cordyceps.
