forgot to buy gypsum for rye substrate - which option to pick?

Hi fellow shroomers!
So I've been soaking my rye grains for about 19 hours now starting out with cold water, and today I again tried to do what I shouldn't do: trying to do multiple things at once. This has resulted in me forgetting to buy some gypsum to add to my soaking rye substrate and shops don't open again until tomorrow. So now I'm in doubt what to do: go through without the gypsum and let the rye grains soak for a few more hours then pc? Or let them soak some more, around 36 hours total and get some gypsum first thing in the morning?
I'm leaning towards leaving the gypsum out this time and continue as planned, since I've read that soaking for longer than 24 hrs will cause massive bacterial bloom. I don't have anything other which can serve as a gypsum substitute either.
My rye:

Gypsum is optional. Continue as planned.

Leave it out. I used gypsum a handful of times and never bothered after that.
Proper grain prep will solve almost any problem you may be having.

Rgr that, thanks all. I'm a novice grower experimenting around a bit and this is my first time working with whole grains. I've had one success with rye flour which I blended from whole grains but got bacterial contaminations in my other jars. So now trying whole pre-soaked grains since I've read that heat-resistant endospores could potentially survive a 60 minute pc-session so now I'm trying to induce forced germination first to see if that changes anything.
For display purposes, this is my current cultivation and it'll be ready for dunking and fruiting soon.

Yeah you’ll be fine without gypsum. You should PC for 90min tho...after a 12-24 hour soak, simmer, let dry. General consensus is the soak is for moisture content and to prevent burst grains during simmer. The whole endospore germination being the purpose has pretty much been left behind. Anyway checkout RR’s grain prep in Let’s Grow Mushrooms. It’ll guide you theeerrrrrrreee

You could boil, drain, air dry, and PC.
