If this was shot in 2019 there'd be people surrounding him with phones.  I admittedly got into Tupac way too late but holy shit.  His music lives up to the hype.

Every second that has passed was a simpler time than the second to come

False.  It is a further unit in progression of time but is not simpler.

The 90s, gas was a buck a gallon, the music was awesome, President Clinton was pimping in the White House and it seemed like money grew on trees. When I say that, I went to horseshoeing school and started my own business. I had clients waiting for me to graduate. As a 23 year old, I made between $500 and $700 dollars a week in cash money. I didn’t take any fucking checks. I’m making about the same now but money went a lot further back then.

Here's the kicker; are we going to gloss over shit we take for granted now, and pine for 2019 in 2039, when phones were only in your pocket, and not a visual LCD display on your fucking face? Probably, lol.

The 90's were the golden era. I'm so, so grateful to have grownup in that time frame. Holy shit did we get the apex of gaming and pre-internet media before full human disconnection set in.

1995-2001ish was somewhat of a golden era in itself IMHO.

Video made my day. I was stuck around venice for a while. Venice beach itself was one of the only worthwhile parts of that trip. It's crazy to see 2 pac doing his thing without getting swarmed with cellphones like the OP said

Tupac is great.  A bit intense on the lyrics, but man I remember being an angsty teenager who knew all the words to "Hit em Up" and if I was pissed, rapping along with that little missive was a downright cathartic experience. :tongue2:

2001 high school graduate right here.  As I have sisters 10 and 14 years my senior, I recall at the time pining about the 80's, which I caught a glimpse of through their lives (they practically raised me since my parents were so busy with their own work).  I remember still being able to find pieces of that 80's mystere in my 90's youth, be it in the beach cities like Santa Monica and Venice, at the arcade, bowling alley, burger joints or movie theaters.  A lot of those things are still around, but have lost some of their unique vibrancy as the major corporate conglomerates have largely homogenized so much of the experience.

Bottom line is, things always change, and it's easy to romanticize what was or what could be.  Grass is always greener on the other side, as it's often said.  Nevertheless, the proliferation of our "always available" paradigm via the internet generally, and cell phones specifically, has been a pretty big game changer.  While it does have some positive attributes with regard to general inclusion across all societies and class systems, I am not a big fan of its effect on the social landscape and the way it has rather starkly changed our primary modes of interaction.

So much of your post resonates with me, it's not even funny. According to the math, I'm 5 years younger than you. I remember pining the late 80's and all that during the late 90's/early 00's when I got obsessed with 8/16-bit gaming (which wasn't cool given the newly rising systems, bro lol), as well as classic horror and slasher movies from approximately 20 years prior. Funny how that's the same time gap as from that period, to now. 25 years, I'd say is when things start to get nuts. I had a cousin just turn 25 and I remember him being born...and how that coincided with the release of Jurassic Park on VHS which was a HUGE deal at the time LOL. Funny how shit like that sticks with you, huh?

I also remember my mom taking myself and a buddy to see Free Willy summer 1993. Arcades a plenty where I grew up, just outside Boston. I know every generation will say their childhood's period was the best generation, but the 90's truly were something special. Hell, I'd argue every decade up UNTIL 2010 has actually felt different and unique. Everything from that point on feels like one long year to me.

It was.  At least people can see him in a holograph at a show.  I really lusted after Tabitha.  Is that a sin?  If it is I don't want to right.  Lol.

Seriously would like those two people to around nowadays and their intake on modern day America.  Think much more was at play with both of them dying.

Cobain and a shotgun, think he did it? Did they drag the body so you could just see his legs?  Don't know.  Man can survive a hell of a lot of bullets. Maybe why 50 cent and his shit career is still going but lost any meaning.  Get why they do what they do.

Yeeeeaaahhh, "two pack" didn't grow up poor, lol. Neither did that fucking big/small guy. They were just good at posing, rhyming etc...That whole "(C)rap thing is pretty annoying to me. The 90's were not good to me, I made some rather bad choices and life was not too good then for me.

A. I'm not racist. Just because I hate rap music and make fun of their names doesn't make me so.

B. Tupac Amaru Shakur was born on June 16, 1971, into an African-American family in the East Harlem section of Manhattan in New York City.[21] His birth name was Lesane Parish Crooks.[22][23][24] Lesane was born a month after his mother was acquitted of more than 150 charges of "Conspiracy against the United States government and New York landmarks" in the New York Panther 21 trial.[25][26] His parents, Afeni Shakur (born Alice Faye Williams in North Carolina) and Billy Garland, were active members of the Black Panther Party in New York in the late 1960s and early 1970s.[27]

At one year old, his mother renamed him after Túpac Amaru II,[28][29] the 18th-century Peruvian revolutionary who was executed after leading an indigenous uprising against Spanish rule.[30] "Tupac" derives from Quechua "Thupaq", meaning "Royal".

I wanted him to have the name of revolutionary, indigenous people in the world. I wanted him to know he was part of a world culture and not just from a neighborhood ...

— Afeni Shakur[31]
Many people in Shakur's life were involved with the Black Liberation Army; some were convicted of serious criminal offenses and imprisoned, including his mother. His godfather, Elmer "Geronimo" Pratt, a high-ranking Black Panther, had been convicted of murdering a school teacher during a 1968 robbery, although his sentence was later overturned. His stepfather, Mutulu Shakur, spent four years at large on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list, beginning in 1982. Mutulu was wanted for having helped his friend (no relation) Assata Shakur (also known as Joanne Chesimard), Tupac's godmother, to escape from a penitentiary in New Jersey in 1979. Mutulu was caught in 1986 and eventually convicted and sentenced to prison for the 1981 robbery of a Brinks armored truck, during which two police officers and a guard were killed.[32]

East Harlem neighborhood of New York City, where Shakur was born
Shakur had an older stepbrother, Mopreme "Komani" Shakur, and a half-sister, Sekyiwa, two years his junior. Mopreme performed in many of his recordings.[33]

In 1984, the family moved from New York to Baltimore, Maryland.[34] After completing his second year at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School, Shakur transferred to the Baltimore School for the Arts. There he studied acting, poetry, jazz, and ballet.[35] He performed in Shakespeare plays and in the role of the Mouse King in the ballet The Nutcracker.[32] Shakur, accompanied by one of his friends, Dana "Mouse" Smith, as his beatbox, won many rap competitions and was considered to be the best rapper in his school.[36] He was remembered as one of the most popular kids in his school because of his sense of humor, superior rapping skills, and ability to mix with all crowds.[37]

If you think this guy had to live off oatmeal, malt o meal, ralston, and have lawn furniture as living room furniture and shit, I disagree 100 %.
