Tripping hard (be it or ) is extremely stressful to me, bordering on the traumatic. The only thing I WANT to watch at that time is that EPIC IMAX SHOW in the infinity behind my closed eyelids.
VISUALS ARE THERE TO BE SEEN.
NOT WATCHING THEM IS WASTEFUL.
When truly Frying its not even an OPTION not to watch them.
Totally, same here...
Last night I went hard, and it was quite the show. I had my eyes closed for much of the trip, with headphones/music on.
At one point there was like a tunnel of spinning rays of rainbow light beaming down into me with increasing intensity the more I focused on it.
The room was dark except for a small string of white/yellowish christmas lights strung around the window frame. When I had my eyes open, the light was flowing out into the room with the light spectrum separating out into the different colored wavelengths and forming totems above me. The light felt like it was full of love and radiating out into me and once there was a quick flash of total white that was like a flash of ecstatic energy. This was all accompanied by personal feelings/insight attached to the theme of my trip intents.
I can't imagine giving this experience up for watching some TV or whatever...
I had the thought that I don't know how I used to take these drugs at parties or whatever similar situation and hold my shit together, I was being blasted apart so hard last night I can't imagine going through that in a public place.
But I guess different situations produce different experiences. Maybe when you take psychedelics at a rave or wherever, you don't allow yourself to go deep. But it also seems that sometimes you don't have a choice, and I wouldn't want to be at a rave when I could be experiencing the trip I had last night in my bed with headphones on.

I miss the dirty uncensored days of youtube...... Or even before that, public access tv.....
We are slowly watching everything become censored and restricted.

I think for the most part its dose dependent.
You just have to ask yourself "what kind of experience do I want to have?"
Earth shattering ego death? Or a relaxing night of introspection?
I definitely don't enjoy tripping too hard anymore
With that being said, sometimes you get more than you bargained for.
Ive had fruits that were unexpectedly strong more than once.

I mean, if I am frying, its not a "relaxing" night of introspection... lol
Definitely introspection, not relaxing by any means though
If I just want a little headspace change, I have to take way less than any amount that would get me frying... and honestly it doesn't even take that much.
I just cant imagine ever again enjoying watching stuff on the TV being a better experience than allowing the trip to show me what it will.

Fair enough
Idk about anyone else but I can get a fairly decent mind-fuck off 2-2.5g of freshly dried cubes.
Definitely not anywhere in the same world as doing a Mckenna dose. But certainly profound

With time you learn to achieve more with less I find.
For me the golden dose is also somewhere between 2,5 - 3,5 grams dried. With that I can easily enter a lucid-dreamlike state for a couple hours.
Less is underwhelming and annoying, more and its mostly in your face weirdness and feeling sick
