Can't tell much from the first image, but the second looks good... looks done right.

11 days? Wait another week and if it doesn't fruit by then get back to us. Looks like its knotting up so it probably wont even be that long.

Yea I’ve been losing so many tubs to bacteria/trich lately I really don’t want to risk opening it, even though it might be kinda far along & silly, my room feels risky so imma wait till I see fruits to be extra safe.
Thx for the compliments! Do you guys see any hyphal knotting by any chance? That’s what I was looking out for
Also, just saw Ayeplus, nice name btw, that’s awesome! I know 11 days is a bit early, but she’s looked colonized like that for a few days now, really hype it looks knotty to u, I have some friends who are really eager so it’s hard not being, overly attentive haha my b

Opening it gives it fresh air which is one thing that helps fend off contamination.

I think it looks good. A slight boost of FAE should get it pinning in a few days.

As soon as you spawned that you exposed it to every contaminate that's in the air.
I would up the air flow a bit and get some evaporation going....that will help pinning.

I think people need to realize that the act of spawning introduces millions of potential contams. They are not a concern if we are using coir verm, or properly pasteurized media assuming the spawn is clean. Clean vigorous spawn will do fine around contams, if you think your contams are the result of exposure to the air in the room you either have dirty spawn or, you need to remove bucket of sporulating mold next to the chamber.

haha ty everybody! I can’t express my appreciation enough for your advice, invaluable stuff really
very true! haha spawning is not safe, but I did it in a separate/cleaner room! haha idk if that means anything, perhaps there were no mean spores floating around there, at least that was in my head when i did it lol
I definitely want to try opening the lid a bit, ik it’s unlikely, but if anything goes wrong I’ll be heartbroken, so I might just wait until once I spot a fruit or two, I want to open it but idkkk
I’m no doubt fanning once I start seeing little dudes tho
one thing that i’m really needing confirmation on, if you guys don’t mind
I’m hearing once you get green mold in your house you have to clean everything & sanitize carefully..
but I’m also hearing that with certain coco teks like “bods easy af” tek, that it should be practically impossible to get contaminated, since the bad stuff doesn’t like coco and can’t contam a fully colonized grain berry.
so which one is it? are you screwed if you had green mold in your house and you attempt an unmodifed tek with the lid slightly open, or should you be able to count on a first flush with healthy grain and sterilized coco regardless?
many thx!
ps, pastywhite! so thts exactly what i’m talking about! you think with clean spawn your good to go? Regardless of the environment your doing it in because it’s too late for contams?

If anything goes wrong, it wont be because you opened it.
Hard to tell for sure about the knotting through plastic but yeah second pic looks like all the ends of the mycelia are starting to make little dots all over, if they are knots you’re gonna have a nice canopy.
I’ve had plenty of tubs go green and the laundry room of my house has a leak and is moldy AF, rats literally dug a tunnel up through the floor I’ve actually fruited tubs in there if they get a spot of the mean green when there are already well formed fruits. I keep my house clean and bleach surfaces regularly, but I’ve had a few green dust clouds released for sure. My mushroom space is hardwood floors and everything is off the ground so its really easy to clean.
i guess moral of the story: Clean house is good, clean spawn is better

🤞🏼🤞🏼 can’t wait
gonna be my first 6 qt tub since messing up my whole batch a month or two ago so far then densest I’ve managed was my sig lol
that’s really interesting about your laundry room and how you use it, what a savage rat. I guess that means it’s at least workable, your not going to ruin everything by having a trich outbreak but it definitely won’t help. I also have hardwood and I vacuum in the room I grow in, I even picked up an air filter that gets rid of mold & bacteria, made me think of those old lysol commercials haha. But I’m still unsure of exactly how long it stays around and how threatening it is to future projects.
Saying that a clean house is good, and a clean sub is better, is good way to put it. Easy to remember

What they’re saying is that if you have a jar of completely clean colonized spawn then you’re basically 99% there, especially with coir.
People have done videos to prove how stable good spawn is where they spawn outside with bare hands, people talk about coughing and sneezing into it and it’s fine.
Once I figured out this whole thing revolves around the spawn I was able to relax a lot more and focus on the couple of things that were actually important.

Dam bro that sounds about accurate,
I originally thought it was my grain, then tubs, then I realized the tubs that did go bad also probably didn’t have perfect grain, it was just hard to see.
Now that I’m more familiar with the contams that are hard to spot hopefully my future jars are 👌🏼 Bacteria really caught me off guard because I was looking for colors initially
I have a few bags filled with almost 2 gallons spawn rye berries, from what I can tell they are not contaminated whatsoever. I might do a test with a unmodifed tun slightly cracked open in an area where there were previous contams taking place.
is lit, if it goes bad tho <\3

Yeah man bacteria is tricky. When I first started here I’d see a pic of a jar of spawn and think oh that looks pretty good, then everybody would say nope garbage bacterial.
Took a while to figure it out, still haven’t all the way but at least now I can spot the obvious shit.

here’s a closeup of another picture & my setup 👍🏼, from what I can tell they look okay.. honestly, long as they don’t get contaminated I’m aite with a few more days 🤷🏻♂️

still getting better so maybe my agar work will be faster, there were ms
setup: 1 layer of mircopore tape, 6 holes ~1 in. temps: radiator set at 75-79* fahrenheit
🤞🏼 many thx homies
ps: I’ve notice a little condensation pooling at the bottom, perhaps my coco is a bit wet and that’s what’s stopping them, I fanned them once as of last night.
