So the deal with these is that I spawned 12 1/2 pint brf jars. Inoculated with a dirty ms syringe. Now this is what I have. 1/2 the jars I left foil on 1/2 off. The 1/2 off are all contaminated and several of the others are as well.
Confession time: I only got one point of inoculation on each of these jars because I made the holes to small and had to fight to get the needle in at all. I think that only having one point gave the other side time to colonize some bad shit. What do you think? I belive the 2 on the right to be fine but the others seem to have idk cobweb mold?? If I have one jar that I can get some good clone material to put to agar it'll be a success. Let me know what you think!!

You should take the foil off so the mycelium can breathe. You put holes in the lid for a reason you should make them bigger next time if you can't even fit the syringe in. Furthermore you prob shouldn't put the jars on their side if you're using a verm barrier. It may slide down and contam the jar.
If the syringe is contaminated every jar is a toss. It could be poor sterile technique if you're getting some contammed and some ok.

Obviously I need bigger hole just throwing this out there that maybe my fuck up is a good proof that one of the main reasoned brf jars work well with ms syringes(given there all inherently dirty) is that with multiple points of inoculation the mycelium has a better chance of out running the contamination.

They look ok as far as I can tell, except it’s weird the growth is on the bottom first. Not sure how that happened.
I’ve only done 4 brf jars and I only had the tall 1/2 pints. I also only made one hole in the center of the lid cuz I thought the needle would reach farther than it did.
I got either one or two spots where myc sprouted on each jar but they took SO long. Like almost six weeks.
If everything was sterilized it should still work unless you have a particularly dirty syringe. I did mine with 3 different syringes and had no probs even though it took forever.

It hard to tell with the pics but I think the first and second jars have cobweb mold. Especially the second jar.

Cobweb is so gross I just saw it for the first time on agar. It’s insane how fast it grows and then gets those nasty looking black dots on it.

These are the five I'm going with. Ganna let'em sit for a few more days and then take them out rinse them off the put them back in there jars and case with coir and then put a bag over them hopefully get some pins I can clone! Any thoughts on my plan?

Took the lid off the five, dumped the top layer of verm and cased with coir that I got to field cap w/ bods bucket tek and bagged them like so. One was tossed due to trich. This was all done on 12-12. They were pretty dry yesterday so I misted lightly now this is what I got. How do they look to you?

Hard to tell this early. You got air holes poked in the bag?

Nothing but the bag baby! Lol no holes, the room is pretty dry but still thought it should be holding water a little better. Isn't this suppose to be leave it alone and let it do its thing or due people usually mist every couple days when top fruiting like this?

I’ve never actually top fruited a jar so I’m not sure but I think it’s low maintenance.
My main concern would be the mycelium. Did it colonize the whole cake?? If not it’ll be a while until you see it hit the surface, if it make it at all.
