What is the best lifetime diet plan?

With all this talk of Carb VS Keto.... Paleo.... Atkins... Calories in calories out.... Vegetarian .... Vegan... Grains.... Carnivore.... Its really difficult for a normal dude to know what to eat.
Now I'm like most people.... I want to live a healthy and long life. I also dont want much fuss with complicated concoctions and bizarre new plants. Quinoa for example is where I draw the line. I have no interest in it and I never will. Maybe thats because im closed minded on the subject... but fuck Quinoa. Fuck all that weird shit. I'm willing to die on that hill.
lol... So what is best? Is Vegan actually healthier for your heart? Is counting carbs the answer? Is meat ideal in every diet? Is counting calories the answer? Is it constant variety?

Not all diets are suited to everyone. A vegan diet may be perfect for some people but can make others ill.
I am a believer in a mixed and natural but varied diet. Fruit, meat, veg etc but if you crave something sweet have some chocolate etc.
I tend not to put much pressure on myself in terms of diet and am a happy and healthy weight.

Check out the documentary on Netflix called "The Game Changers." It's about the benefits of a more plant based diet and shows some basic simple experiments that back up the claims. It's really good and worth the time to watch.

Whatever works best for your particular constitution, genetics, physical condition, psychological condition, and goals.
Given that we're not driven to eat only what we can forage from nature any more, and have an almost infinite variety of choices, it's my supposition that we must experiment to find what works best for each of us.
There simply is no 'one size fits all' answer to this question. It takes work to get it right.
-------------------- Let it be seen that you are nothing. And in knowing that you are nothing... there is nothing to lose, there is nothing to gain. What can happen to you? Something can happen to the body, but it will either heal or it won't. What's the big deal? Let life knock you to bits. Let life take you apart. Let life destroy you. It will only destroy what you are not. --Jac O'keeffe

I would never trust a lifelong diet. A diet without inflammatory foods will eventually work better in an old man with rheumatoid arthritis. A diet without fiber for inflammatory bowel.
The standard "best overall" i think it is a mediterranean diet with cico based on local and seasonal foods. But there are so many exceptions i wouldn't recommend it blindly. The ratios of macros are totally messed up for a athlete trying to gain weight or a huge man trying to lose it
