You don't have to sterilize it.  You can just pour boiling water on it.

I sterilize mine sometimes anyways, in a five gallon bucket I cut a few inches off so it fits in the PC.  Just for a half hour maybe.

There are plenty of teks.  It usually 3.5 liters water 650g coir 2 quarts verm and 1 cup gypsum.  Substrate should not drip much water when squeezed, if any water.  Break up your cakes and mix it up good with the coir, maybe 1 part grain to 1.5-2 parts coir, and save a bit of coir to case the top.  Some people make that layer a bit wetter, if they are using a mix that's on the dry side.

I get about five shoeboxes or one mono from that recipe.

Hello, I am sterilizing because I had some problems in the past with mold infecting ALL of my past TEKs. So now since I brought a new PC only 2 jars out of 7 jars went bad. So Now I want to make sure the Verm/Coir mix is clean too.

Hello JohnRainy, Do I add the gypsum and coffee before or after I sterilize? Thank You

You mix everything up then sterilize.

But coffee is in a different class than the rest of it.  It's quite susceptible to mold compared to coir, verm and gypsum.

Ive heard of it used in straw/manure based substrates, where you pasteurize everything and its a pain in the ass.  You don't sterilize those substrates.

Well you can but you dont want to if spawning open air but by all means you can sterilize you substrates in a grow bag or similar vessel then spawn in front of hood or SAB.
And that's about the only time I'd suggest someone use coffee in the sub. Coffee sucks. Very prone to mold. Instead add some brewed coffee to grain water while soaking.
