19 days since I put this PE tub into fruiting conditions still no fruits??
    #26361922 - 12/04/19 10:17 PM (4 years, 1 month ago)

It's been quite a while now since I put this tub into fruiting conditions:

Grow is kept between 18-20 degrees celsius, light on a 12 on 12 off cycle and have a fan on low about 5ft away from the tub blowing at the wall. Judt seems odd that I don't see any signs of pinning or anything yet?? Also the mycelium looks kinda like white/creamy coloured clay. I used the remaining coir/verm for a casing layer but the mycelium just chewed that up too.

There had been some questions around the time I put the tub into fruiting conditions that the tub may be a little dry because there was a crack in the substrate so I had been heavily misting every couple of days or so. When prepping the substrate I used 4 quarts of water to a brick of coir and squeezed it and thought I had gotten field capacity as it has a drip rapidly for a few seconds then stop. But hey I'm still learning.

Any tips on how I can get this to fruit?

Leave it alone. When did it finish colonizing your casing?

Well you have to account for that time. You kinda changed your timeline with that and aren't PE a lil slower anyway

Yeah, idk. You used 4 quarts water to 1 brick of coir and it came out dry? Maybe you get big bricks, but the normal 650g brick usually takes 3-3.5 quarts.

The flat look is probably the result of the constant heavy misting. Leave it alone before it starts to overlay (if it didn’t already).
I have a few tubs of PE that are waaay behind schedule too. But they’re not drying out and I use 3.5 qt of water per brick. 15 days since 100%.
If it’s any consolation, they say the late-fruiters are the most potent cubes🤷🏻‍♂️

It looks like you have knots but it might just be the casing. I’m just starting with PE got a few shoeboxes a week old.  But I had a half pint cake I spawned to coir as a trial run and I saw one pin at day 14 and now day 17 they’re starting to come through so I I’m sure you’ll see them anytime now.

Hope you report back with the yield. You used one 1/2 pint soo anything over 7g dry is a win? (If a quart should yield an oz)

Here’s where it’s at so far. Def cloning the big one.

There’s a bunch coming in at the middle right. As long as they don’t abort should be a decent yield. The big one is real solid.

I think I see some small knots.

Keep waiting bro.

Noice!
How late did you case? I only did a pseudo-casing cause I never grew PE before, but now I’m wondering if a late casing might have been a good idea.

Well that was supposed to be the experiment. I cased the half with the big one and the two pins at spawn, and left the other half uncased.

But without a lid like I’m used to with shoeboxes i was having trouble keeping it healthy so I cased the other half I think four days ago. I did the layer of coir at spawn too.

The three boxes I have now two just hit 100% so I cased them and put one in fruiting and I’m letting the other one consolidate a while. I think I’m gonna try waiting til I see knots to case the last one.

Hmmm so did it pin before you cased the other half?

Sry for the barrage of questions, I should prolly start my own thread:tongue: Just starting to think they’ll never fruit unless I late-case after reading about similar situations.

Yeah it had a couple before I cased it. Idk if it was the casing or just timing but a lot more showed up a couple days after I cased it.
