Combining San Pedro and Peyote 1

So I'm very interested in trying peyote but don't really want to kill my cacti to do it, I do however have a very large L. williamsii var Caespitosa that I ate a small button from last year when it dried up completely instead of callousing over for propagation and I could definitely taste the alkaloids. My question is, would I be able to mix a solid dose of pedro with a few decent buttons of my peyote for the additional alkaloids or would that ultimately be a waste of such a special cactus. I mean I know it would work but would I notice any real difference over a pedro trip?

Theoretically the pellotine content of the loph would make the trip more relaxed/dreamy/sedated.

Guess that would be more peyote like, just have a hard time cutting up a 10 year old cactus. Also could cut buttons off dry them and store over years If I want a pure trip I guess.

I can not grow lophs where I live, but I have read a great deal about them over the years-- including a wealth of great conversation here-- My understanding is that the dry weight of lophs has to be sufficient to contain enough alks in the same way as trichs do-- meaning that it takes a pretty decent quantity/dry weight of lophs to have an effect despite the per-gram alk concentrations being relatively high.
If you are only talking about a few buttons I would expect you'd notice little effect-- you might be better off cutting off those buttons and grafting them to other stock so they multiply-- then you're making a lot more out of what you have.
After all my reading, I would not personally ruin the plant just to have a weak/poor experience, as they're such special things!

This is the cactus I've got, the large buttons you see are slightly larger than a golf ball.
