Baltimore is a pretty cool city. Almost all of the crime is limited to a few very bad neighborhoods. Most of the murders are revenge killings. The violence is pretty well contained to being between violent people. I have no fear walking around the city by myself at night.

I’d rather live in Baltimore than Ottawa that’s for sure

Baltimore is like DCs poor twin. Housing costs are about half that of DC. Baltimore has a lot cool converted warehouse apartments and really old epic townhouses. A lot of people live in Baltimore and commute to DC for work. It’s only 30 minutes by train.

Fun fact: the violent crime rate per 100000 people in Baltimore is higher than it was in Medieval Europe. So is South Chicago.

The reason its so bad is because in communities like that the most dominant form of employment is the drug trade....

When competition is so fierce...... guys start dropping like flies.

You're making money and Im not?

Find some kid with no parents that needs a father figure/to belong
give them a gun...........

Put in work youngin.......

A few months ago on the seattle police blotter i read about how....

There were suddenly all these home invasions and burglaries happening around the city, a few guns were stolen from some houses...

Then a bunch of drivebys and robberies started happening all around the city.....

High speed police chase, comes to and end......

It was 2 15 year olds and a 14 year old

Its the youngins that do all the killing..

As for Oakland

http://thepioneeronline.com/39009/metro/gentrification-in-oakland-on-the-rise/

Quote:

The diversity of Oakland has subsequently been affected as the cost of living has risen. In 1990 African-Americans made up about 43.9 percent of Oakland’s population. In 2000, that number was 35.7 percent, and in 2010 African American’s only made up 28 percent of Oakland’s population according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. That’s nearly a 16 percent decrease in Oakland’s black community since 1990.
At the same time in 1990, white people made up 32.5 percent of the population, then declined to 31.3 percent in 2000 and increased to 34.5 percent in 2010. Over all that’s a six percent increase in Oakland’s white population.

The average price for a home in SF is 1.3 million. That’s not possible for a blue collar worker.

So. You’re totally fucking wrong. Keep up the hard work though. Unfortunately, America is rigged so it never pays off but still we’re all so proud of you.

Not true at all. I'm in the East bay, in or around Oakland, and purchased a house about 2 years ago for about $360,000. I fixed it up and now it's worth at least $670,000. Most of the other electricians I know own their houses too. If I was in San Fran then I would double my rates and be able to live there too. It's very possible to be blue collar and have a house. I'm proof.

The hard work did pay off for me. I still work hard and it is still paying off. I own my own house, have a hot wife and awesome son, own dirt bikes, video games, cars and vans, and have money in the bank. Doesn't get much better than that.

Just because the white population is rising doesn't mean that black people are being pushed out. If they can't adapt and afford to live here then they shouldn't live here. Same with whites, Asians, and any other race. Nothing is stopping the black people from getting educated and becoming techies or whatever.

Keep blaming your troubles on other people and see where that takes you in life. Good luck!

Is it possible that because his opinion is different to yours, you choose to fire a shot over the bow instead of discussing it or just moving on?

To each his own...

You're fooling yourself if you think money has nothing to do with romantic relationships...

Financial stress is a horrible feeling.

Woman are attracted to security.

and fair enough.

How many women out there have to deal with dead beat dads?

Great reply, but let me add that PEOPLE are attracted to "security" and that includes mental well being. Unfortunately the people in power and a lot of the mainstream (all?) have made money the center of what we need to do almost anything. Yes, free stuff and things are available and some of those things can never be bought, but money helps grease peoples way through life and make it a little easier. Fakesunra, find the people who have the same ways of thinking and being and group together, rent a nice place, do things, but sitting around dwelling on what you don't have or can't get will only bring you down. I used to play the blame game too. I'm a little cynical and jaded, but I'll be fucking damned if I let the negative forces of this plane of existence get to me.

How so Boomer? Maybe you can express your feelings with words and logic instead of name calling. Maybe you could sprinkle a little intelligence into your posts?

How is that creepy at all? You're just getting mad now because your dumb argument doesn't make any sense and you obviously haven't thought about this topic any further than what YOU should get for FREE, but I can almost guarantee that you contribute nothing to society. You need money to have a successful relationship and you especially need money to raise a child. No hot woman is going to marry someone that is pushing carts or washing dishes when they are over 20 years old. A lot of women like there man to be able to provide financial and physical security.

What is the point you're trying to make here? Sunra posted the average cost of living in SF, making it seem like it's impossible to live here, own a house, and work blue collar. Are you saying that he should have posted the median house price instead of the average?

I'm paying $300 a month for rent for a 1 br in pittsburgh and it's not bad. Average for what I got is more like $600 around here, but if you got the dank connections you can get super cheap, almost free living. Before I was paying 400 a month for 1 br, found in Craigslist. Also once payed $220 a month for a room in a shared house, still wasn't bad, and this city is the shit!
