Favorite & Least Favorite Times of Day

Exactly what it sounds like. I'm high AF and thinking out loud, let's go! Different times of the day have different effects on mood, perception, etc.:
I find myself absolutely loving the quiet time work hours I get in between 3:00AM - 7:00AM every morning. Nobody to bother me, my own work flow, space, time, etc. It's more of working while meditating for me.
Something about 4:30ish PM, especially in winter, that just triggers anxiety for me. It's like the day isn't over yet, but it's late and getting dark, but feels like there's still shit that needs to be done. I've hated it since I was a kid. Logically, 4:30PM and on on a Sunday was my least favorite time of the week as a kid, lol.
Favorite: 3:00-7:00AM
Least Favorite: 4:30PM.

I especially didn't like the early mornings when I did night shift. It's like that transition is very anxiety-provoking, as you said.
You've heard the concept of liminal spaces, yes? The idea that a place that usually only exists for a specific purpose might feel alien or absurd when experienced outside of that purpose. Like how a movie theater or a highway rest stop feels unusual or even creepy when you are there alone because there are supposed to be people there for a very specific reason.
I expect the reason I hated 3am-5am is because of the absence of humanity.
Do you ever wonder why you don't like that particular time frame?

I said my FAVE time is that 3:00AM-7:00AM window, and probably precisely for the reason you dislike it: there's nobody around and I can focus LOL.
I'm ready for a nap by the time everyone's hustling around for the rat race. Watching that shit unfold is exhausting. Late afternoon, like 3:30-6:00pm is my least favorite portion of the entire day.

Same! I love the early morning hours, especially during days off. I can't sleep in anymore. I love waking up early, cooking a good breakfast to the sound of the coffee pot hissing and a slight breeze coming through the kitchen window. Then heading to the gym for a bit, coming home for a nice hot shower, then heading back out for some grocery shopping. Top it off with a nice cigar and iced coffee all before the roommates wake up.
I love that feeling of being the only person awake in the world.
My least favorite times are my first hour or so of work. I need a bit of adjusting to the environment and I hate being thrust into an immediately busy situation after a quiet drive.

I absolutely hate mornings in the city, waking up early to walk the dog, opening door only to be greeted by smell of petrol, concrete, plastic , burned tires and other shit. Fecking disgusting
In the country side away from everything mornings are simple, easy and full of joy sunshine and happiness.
Anyway, favourite time..... probably midnight, many reasons

Midnight is my absolute all time favourite.
When I have to wake up is my least favourite.

The first two hours after waking up suck.
When I worked nights I really struggled from 0400 to about 0600
I love the hours around summer sunset

i love midnight - 5am
i've always been a night guy.
in recent years i have been struggling against it because keeping night hours isn't very healthy due to disruption of melatonin production and all that, but my brain just always becomes active during the night, like its natural for me.

its funny because i like late night / early mornings, and going to empty movie theaters alone, pretty much for the reasons you list not liking. I've worked night shifts for many years in my life also.
liminal spaces are very magical. Even times in your life can be viewed as liminal spaces, when you are going through heavy transitions, often negative such as a big break up or something that totally uproots your life. If you can tap into the magic during those times, it can be a very powerful tool that you are not given access to very often.
i find the same to be true of these daily liminal spaces - there is a certain energy in them that is very special, compared to the normal spaces people generally stick to

Same here, always been this way. I am MOST awake between midnight - 1am, which fucking sucks because I really need to be sleeping before then to get enough rest and still jive with the rest of the world in the am. Last night it was a struggle to be asleep by 2am, and then I had to be up at 6:30.
It's no wonder I fell so gracefully into shift work for the whole of my twenties. Loved it. Hate the early morning shit most do.

I’m with the midnight squad. It’s when I feel best, and the world looks nicest. It’s crazy, I can go the whole day dragging ass, but after the sun sets, I feel alive. Really kinda fucks me up though- my life & family have the most going on during the day, so I’ve gotten used to sleeping five or fewer hours a night. Been this way my whole life.
And as such, my least favorite time is early morning. I wake up and know there’s a whole stupid, busy day of stuff until I get to another pleasant night.

I like the way you put that. So true. I can literally be falling asleep on my feet during the daylight hours, and as I get closer and closer to midnight I become more and more awake, regardless of how tired I was earlier.
Sometimes I think I was just not meant for this world... it all runs so bloody counter to what I am.

I really feel like people have different cycles, even though that doesn't jive with
There are plenty of people that have been night owls throughout history. Perhaps its just whatever cycle you become used to, but I swear I've always been like this as long as I can remember, and I have a lot of trouble whenever I try to get onto a normal schedule - it just never really works very well for me. I can get my body onto the schedule of going to sleep earlier and getting up earlier, but it never feels right. I never achieve the same level of brain activity early in the day/morning as I do late at night.
I'm mostly giving up on trying to be healthier with a normal schedule and just giving in to being up all night...
employment & school were always much harder for me because of this inclination towards the night time

Favorite time is usually sunset, but only when the sunset is good - epic and the saturated sunlight is beaming off all the trees / land scape and purple pink and yellow textured clouds in the sky. Evening darkness time sucks for me

I'm at my best around 11:12pm, which is the time that i was born. My worst would be 12 hours from that, catching my natural cycle on the elliptical.
