You cant beat a dehydrator. People acting like they know what there doing but obviously dont if they recommend against a dehydrator

I also think the dehydrator is the way to go. Only problem is they are expensive, but a nice one will last 10-15 years.

Expensive? 20-30 bucks. Costs less than a bag of mushrooms to make sure all the ones you ever grow are done correctly

True, I guess I am just looking at those fancy $200 dehydrators since I make beef jerky sometimes and want a bulky one. I forget there is much cheaper ones

The cheap onesake jerky too. I went for a $60 cuisinart. It's aimilar to the $60 unit i saw at bass pro. The element is on the bottom and the trays connect qell enough that there is like no temp loss on the sides. That said I'm on my 3rd unit, bia warranty. Maybe I got crumbs in it but IDK. I got to keep the dysfunctional units so I will likely use then to build a big ass cabinet. The elements are great, just fan troubles. I have tried a cheaper model from rural king which I returned. TBH I haven't used a nesco.

Sorry if my advice about fan drying caused confusion to anyone. I'm a little rusty on my shrooms and i've always done small batches harvested from hunting. After reading the responses and thinking about the situation more, despite that fan drying has worked for me in the past, it would likely be much less efficient to do to a big haul harvested from cultivation.
Seems a dehydrator is the preferred method. I'd go with that OP.
