Will my agar bottle be ok tilted in pc

I’m getting ready to dive into agar, I mixed my mea into the 500ml media bottle, boiled it, shook it up, loosened the cap a little and covered it in foil....and then it was like 1/6 inch too tall to fit in the pc. I made a wedge out of foil and tilted the bottle against it slightly so it would fit. Maybe like 30-35 degrees tilt.
This should be ok right? Unless it’s gonna boil over or something.

It could crack if it's touching the sides of another bottle. Had that one happen. But naw it won't matter that it's tilted as long on it's not flat on it's side.

It’s the only thing in there but the cap might be lightly touching the side of pc. I’m assuming it can handle it for 20 mins but I guess we’ll find out.

1st off, noice bro, glad to see getting into agar too!
I just got some petris myself and everything else I need to pour.I'm getting really sick of these nopour containers, you can never see anything until you open it and the stack like shit...I'm glad to see your driving right into pouring it.
That being said I think you will be totally fine with your bottle tilted. I say go for it..
What recipe are you following?

Btw have you ever had your mycelium/knots start to turn yellow? BOD thinks I'm fine but didn't give any kind of explanation and I cant find anything else like it searching the forums

Turning yellow can be from drying out or it could be bacteria causing stress.

I just poured my first sleeve, super easy. And yeah that’s funny you ask about the yellow knots, I just had that happen for the first time but mines for sure bacteria. It was a jar of spawn that didn’t recover normally after a shake but I did it anyway to see. I noticed some knots swelling up and turning yellow and then found crazy spots of bacteria or something that seem to start on the knots.

The pinset is sweet though. I have no clue what exactly it is I’m trying to find out. It’s pretty distinct.

How’s your tub going?? Should be time to harvest soon right? I just got my first penis envy pin, pretty stoked on that. I finally got some normal sized shrooms on the third flush from the box in my signature. My first agar project is gonna be cloning these guys.

It will be fine. Before I bought a media bottle I used a liquor bottle that had to be tilted to fit.

I think your yellowish stuff is from over misting in those corners and possibly slight bacterial growth that's probably going to pose almost no threat.

Dam bro, I'm glad that still had a nice pinset. I dont know if that's what's going on with mine too or if its something else. I made mine from a bunch brf jars that looked really good.
How far along is that box now?
You gotta let me ao thise PE pins, I wanted to try them but was skeptical because I heard they were a bit more difficult than other cubes. But would definitely like to try them at some point.
That tub your talking about is doing pretty decent tho, couldn't have fucked up the surface too bad because I got about 100 pins ontop and maybe 20 altogether from the sides..
Here it is tho:

Awesome thank you guys I’m glad to hear the bacteria shouldn’t matter, although I think I’ll probably skip eating those side pins.
The agar was fine, I didn’t use it all do I need to keep the bottle refrigerated until I want to use it again?

That’s a lot of pins man should be worth the wait. So here’s some of my yellow knots on the bacterial tub, it kinda looks like they’re pins without caps or something.

Ok ya, I'm pretty sure that's what I got going on! Those jars were all inoculated with MS so that wouldn't be a huge surprise if I had some bacteria overgrowth..I wont sweat it in that case.
I was worried becausenits literally touching the other tray next to it...

Are you using a trivet in your PC? If you do, try removing it and just placing jar lids on the bottom (as many as will fit evenly). This is how many people PC jars (I also do it for my 1.6 qt jars), so media bottles should be more than fine.

Thanks for the help so far everybody.
So earlier I took a piece from a couple stems and put them on my agar. This is my first time with agar and it looks like it wasn’t as cooled down as I thought it was because the pieces of tissue kind of sank into the agar.
I’m assuming it’ll be fine as long as it’s not totally submerged?

Hopefully it's not because theres not enough agar in your media...

Agar starts to gel around 45C (a bit lower if you use less than 2%). Temps higher than 41C start to denature proteins and kill cube cells (similar to human cells). The small amount of tissue and the fact that it was submerged means there's a good chance it got cooked, I believe . Perhaps if it cooled rapidly enough, something survived?

Uh oh... I never thought about too little agar. That might have something to do with it now that I think about it. I’ll find out in the morning. I’m not sure how long it takes to totally cool but I was running short on time so as soon as the left over in the bottle started jiggling I tilted a dish and it didn’t run to the sides so I went ahead and did the clones.
Hopefully the tissue isn’t cooked I don’t think it was that hot when I did it.
Exactly why I went as small as possible for the first run.
