Looking to eat Honey Mushroom
    #26352857 - 11/29/19 09:24 PM (4 years, 1 month ago)

Found these today... can't imagine what else they'd be other than A. mella.  If I don't know my ass from a beach ball, tell me.  But if I've found the honey, I'd like to try it. Arora advises to "cook it well."

Habitat:  Park, growing along a root system of some tree. (Please don't ask what kind of tree.)

Spore print: WHITE

I like to parboil them for a minute or two first before cooking them up.

I also tend to only eat young ones whose veils are still attached to the margin, but lots of people eat more mature ones.  Just my personal preference.

Enjoy!

You want to be sure to thoroughly cook all your mushrooms or gastrointestinal irritation can occur.
