First post so sorry if I leave anything out. I've been using this site for a few years now but decided I wanted to be more involved recently and figured this would be good to start. Thanks
This is just what I found while cleaning up my backyard, I'm sure I'd find more and better ones to analyze if I was closer to my creek but night got me and had to call it a night.
I hope I did good enough with the photos!
Habitat: North West Georgia, South of Red Top Mountain, In back yard on pine cones about a half foot under some brush/by rotting fallen tree, Creek runs about 50 yards from location. Rained last week and been dry for a couple of days.
Gills: Yellow brown gills, attached.
Stem: Long and skinny, Dark brown base then to yellow brown-white to cap, Silky feel, Seems to be hollow and when cut are stringy if that makes sense.
Cap: Yellow brown, concave, falling apart from what it seems like.
Spore print color: I believe it is white. I've never done this before but just cut the stem and put on aluminum foil like how the forum suggested.
Bruising: Turns a dark brown from what I can tell on the stem.
Thanks guys, just trying to get out and get started so any criticism/tips are welcomed.

I've never seen xeromphalina on anything but conifer wood, but that's not saying it doesn't happen, only my personal observations.

I can see where you're coming from as they're growing on pine cones, but these look like Omphalinoid rather than Collybioid mushrooms. The gills are running down the stem and they're yellow or orangish.

I agree with you, that not what I meant, should have been more clear on my part.

Could be, but I'm leaning towards Xeromphalina campanella because the gills are so decurrent. Xeromphalina cauticinalis reacts bright red on the cap surface with KOH (Potassium hydroxide) if you happen to have any around? I wonder though, if there are any common household products that contain KOH? I know that it is used in the manufacture of some cleaning products - it might be worthwhile having a rummage around in your cleaning cabinet and checking the labels

In my experience cauticinalis gills can be quite decurrent as well, especially on immature specimen. But I agree with your
