Shake the grains just after you get them out of your PC, this will redistribute the moisture and then as cronicr said shake them once they are inoculated and 30% colonised.

Do you guys ever leave jars without shaking to give your other stuff time to finish I'm just wondering if there's any issue with the longer colonization like more chance somthing falls through the polyfil or whatever. Or any other problems from not shaking that you've noticed and sorry not trying to high jack a thread it just seemed to go with OP's questions.

It just helps them finish colonizing faster. I would shake the top, second from left and the far right. The other two look almost finished

Hello Cybin_man, Is it ok to shake the jars that are almost finished?

The far left one would probably benefit from it. Is the third one colonized on the other side of the jar like it is on the side shown in the picture? If it is I would just leave it. Your basic goal from a shake is to break up the colonized grain and try to mix it with the uncolonized so it spreads to the naked grains faster.

Yeah those will be done in like a day if you shake them. There’s no problem not shaking them, from what I’ve read it might be safer because shaking can spread any bacteria that might be there.

I usually smack the jar on my hand until the chunks are busted up then roll the jar around. It’s gonna look like all the myc is gone after you shake but usually 24 hours later it’s back and everywhere.

Thank You. I shook all 4 of the bottom jars and I am going to wait a few days for the top jar
