Pan cyans and taste 1

Pan cyans are some really strong mushrooms, but as strong as they are in potency they are strong in taste and smell. Especially strong is the smell of freshly picked pan cyans with the young immature specimens having high spore content. Does the taste of pan cyans ever remind you of fish? It felt like I was eating kalamari (raw squid), and the inky spores make them even seem more squid like. They have long stipe that resemble tentacles and their caps are like jellyfish

Whoa
to me, they taste odd but not that bad overall. More pleasant than cubes in my opinion. I used to make smoothies with fresh wild Pan cyans and frozen tropical flavored juices. They came out pretty good tasting.
How do you typically eat them?

I've never had a problem eating mushies straight. I've never mixed them, made tea, or used PB. I have a natural affinity for mushrooms, fish, and odd-odor food. I guess it's in my DNA LOL.
My last trip was 3g and change pan cyans, straight dried. Most intense trip I've experienced so far. DMT is on the horizon for December, though!

I always hated the taste of mushrooms! Sorry hah. Especially cooked, they reminded me of chewing rubber, and made me gag growing up. Today I think of mushrooms as medicine. They're good for you but taste eugh still regardless of genus/species imho

Oh no worries, most people hate mushrooms all together. I don't hold it against anyone; I'm definitely the weirdo here, lol. I've always enjoyed "exotic" stuff, but found common place foods almost intolerable. I'm backwards .
I've also never really experienced nausea from any of my onsets before trips, even on 3g+ of dried pan cyans last trip.
What a weirdo!

I don't know I've eaten some wild cyans but not the pan kind. They didn't taste that bad. Eaten lots of different cubes, I think wet tastes the best.

I always make tea. Crush the mush and steep in hot water with lots of peppermint for 5 minutes. Pass through a coffee filter and drink. No mushroom taste, hits faster and overall just more enjoyable.

I had them only once and it was years ago. I really don't remember the taste.

I chop them up and take a sip of water when I swallow them. Or lately I made tea out of them. There was once in particular that they tasted strong when I ate some. I usually just prefer the taste of cubes I think. But it depends on the mushroom in particular in some ways how they taste

Are you drying them correctly? Pans in general dried don’t usually have any pronounced flavor for me. If you’re not drying them fully it could’ve been bacteria or something like that.

Yeah something sounds off. Pans go down way easier than cubes imo. Much better experience. They do cause more nausea for me, though. But nothing a grated ginger root can't fix.

I’m not saying they taste horrible it is just strong I just have a different opinion on which I prefer. But yeah some pan cyans are easier to eat than cubes. I don’t really get nausea though.

Yeah that’s what we’re saying, no dry mushrooms should have any strong flavor. Try drying them sooner, hottter and more.
Also, moisture can retain in the fungi after drying and defeat the entire purpose of drying them. if you live somewhere like I do where it’s humid af, dessicants are a MUST where you’re storing your mushrooms. For example little silica packets, otherwise they’ll stink and taste like shit because they’re infested with bacteria cause they got moist again
Used too have a ton of problems with wild mushrooms and them getting bacterial, it’s not that big of a deal you can still consume them in a tea if they’re not too nasty. But yeah dessicants man

Pan cyans taste rather good compared to cubes.
A little nutty, earthy, not too bad at all.
I loathe the smell and taste of p cubensis
