Trying to prepare for a lot of sidepins
    #26350222 - 11/28/19 09:10 AM (4 years, 2 months ago)

My first tub is just starting to pin. I've got maybe 20 side pins and only a few on top.

I'm worried that if I have one of those tubs that nust want to pin from the sides, that the limited room between the sub and the tub will restrict its potential.

Does this fear have any validity? Alot of people say dont worry they'll fruit fine and I also saw another (aka) who pulled his whole sub out and fruited it like s cake, and basically had a canopy from the side.

So in the event that the top of my sub performs poorly and the side has majority of the fruits, what should I do?

I thought about cutting it in half and flipping the two halfs together top sides in together exposing the long sides of the tub... that way I could expose the bigger half of the sides while keeping it in the same tub...

Am I turning this into more of a problem then it has to be? I just wanna maximize my yields..

They will grow out to maturity even when smooshed against the sides, but they'll be flat.

You can move the sub to give it more space. Trick to it is wait until they're really established, like that size between pins and mature. Moving too early can cause them to abort when the conditions become less favorable from moving.

I just propped the sub on the side of the tub a bit to give it an angle and some free space and they plumped up in their last days of growth, but i'm sure there's a couple ways you could make some space and get the same result.

Gotcha I wont sweat them then. I just knew what I'm doing wrong with my surface conditions...

Good luck, the mushroom doesnt care that you:

- dont want it to eat foil
- not sidepin
- stick to jar glass
- away from nutrition

you think your mundane tricks can challenge
the utonomy of the mighty mushroom,
oh the pathos of Man

What dude lol? If we weren't able to trick fungi into doing stuff this hobby would be way less interesting...

We know what they prefer and set out to give them the best conditions to grow, and they thrive...

I'm not really sure what you were trying to say THOUGH TBH..
