Well the hunt continues but since I got ya here Moria I thought you'd like these pics I have from attempting to get something growing from some mycelium from the wood chips from my last find you identified for me and this is the result so far.

Those are gymns, probably something like G. luteoviridis

So even though these woodchips came from the place where i previously found the gymnopilus aeruginosus and i transferred the woodchips to a place where i can control the environment a little better, you saying that there's probably more than one species growing from those particular woodchips?

It could be G. aeruginosus. Or perhaps the original mushroom was misidentified. The subtropical gymns are diverse and difficult to identify down to species.
I'd say it's most likely that whatever you planted there is the same species that's now growing, a member of the aeruginosus-luteofolius clade

I'm not sure what you have, better pictures of the cap gills and stipe will help using natural light but it doesn't look like Gymnopilus imho

You can clearly see the large orange spore deposits on the stipe and the gills, something that is very unique to Gymnopilus sp. Plus, the scales on the cap basically confirm it.

You could be right, but I have a responsibility to be 100% certain when I Identify someone else's mushrooms as a Trusted identifier and I am not comfortable with saying what they are. Either my eyesight is worse than I realize or the pictures are blurred.

And Doc thanks a million for being so thorough with your IDs. It's nice to know that there are people who put time into this and then ultimately extend the knowledge in a positive way. As well as thank you Moria for all of your insight and love for the mushrooms as well. Much love and light for you guys today!
