Stunted growth on Myco Bags?

I’m fairly new to cultivation and decided to try these myco bags with the ore sterilized rye berries. The first bag I inoculated with Malabar and it colonized very well. The second bag I inoculated with B+ spores and the growth seems stunted after a great an equal start to the ladder. Why would you think it got stunted? Should I just wait? Can it recover? I inoculated then at the same time and the same method and sterilized area, so I’m a bit confused. My best guess is maybe I inoculated too much and it might have thrown off the moisture content. Anyways... thanks for the help ! Here are some pictures...

Hard to see whats going on. Can you take pictures without flash? Also provide more info: timeline, how many c.c.'s innoculant, etc.

That first pic has bacterial spawn on the left. You may still be able to use it.
That bag on the right isnt stalled. Its fully colonized with mold.

Bacteria ? Okay I’ll still put it to spawn. Also is the mold also a contaminate, will it affect it when spawning ? Thanks for the advice

Copy. I accidentally put 3-4 cc in that bag by pressing a little to hard when inoculating. Think that was the cause of the mold ?

No, probably just the fact of a syringe to grain is what caused it to mold.
Edit - dig in to agar

There is no way to save the moldy bag. The mold was introduced when you shot the spores into the grain, the syringe itself was dirty. How much spore solution went is is really irrelevant. Throw that bag out for sure.

Oh wow so the spores were already bad ? It wasn’t due to anything in my end as far as sterilization? Think it would be wise to contact the supplier ?

Maybe. Remember though that cultivation is illegal, so choose your words carefully. Spores injected directly to grain is almost always a bad idea to begin with, exactly because of what just happened.

Spores were fine. They grew in the bag on the right. Any number of factors could have played in to you getting mold in the right bag. Spores to grain more often than not fails and produces mold. You might be able to tell the vendor you didn't see any spores under the microscope to get a new syringe. But dont go straight to grain. This is a long term hobby. Learn agar.

Spores were definitely NOT fine.

it only takes one mold spore in the syringe to cause an issue. I would use that syringe and go to agar. then knock up the bags with clean agar cultures

Perhaps I was a bit lazy with my wording. Let me clarify. The spores were fine because they germinated in the bag on the LEFT. Granted it looks bacterial. I said right earlier by mistake. It's possible that he nocced the left bag first and then went straight into the bag on the right without flaming the needle and picked up something in the process. It's possible that the syringe was dirty, but there were still spores and they were fine because they germinated. Could have had a great success with that syringe and isolating on agar. The lesson here is it doesnt take much longer to get a clean sample with agar and the risk is much lower than going ms to grain. I also didn't want the vendor taking all the heat when poor technique is being used.

everyone is right about agar though. use spores as little as possible. spores can never really be trusted seeing as sporeprints arent taken in sterile conditions
