Ekstaza has ask him,i saw pictures he posted on his grow using it in PF cakes and he was very succesful.I havent heard of anyone else, and the FAQ says it works but not that well. Those are the only 2 referances i know of.Check with Ekstaza.

don't know if that will work in a pf cake but it might, but thats a lot of time and effort pissed away if it doesn't. i will send you a bag of verm if you pay for the verm, shipping etc... send me a pm if you want a bag or two.

Hmm, vermiculite didn't seem much of a problem for me.

Except those damned tapered jars!

vermiculate holds water, perlite wicks water. opposite functions, so my guess is that it would work like shit

as i said Ekstaza has had success with it.It is better to use verm, but look up the post he did where he showed the pictures,it was very succesful.I doubted it would work myself untill I spoke to him and read his post.
I still recomend you look harder for verm or order some online, but if all else fails,it apparently is possable.

Perlite still helps the soil mix retain water...I bought some verm yesterday but im still using perlite because its allready in Aqua Coir when you by it and it works ok both ways...Perlite has many holes because its porous so you could harbour some contams ...thats why everybody uses Verm :smirk:

I'd mix it with wbs before using perlite.

I've used vermiculite, perlite and REGULAR SAND (yes, from an aquarium store, the fine variety) and they've all worked! Not sure of the differences, because I wasn't very scientific with the sand, but it produced something, at least.
