Is it better to use an old G1 or a fresh G2 as a master?

Hey guys So I have some jars I inoculated from agar on about a month ago. They have been sitting around fully colonized for about 2 weeks now. This is the point where I usually stop using them as masters and fruit them.
I also have some G2s i inoculated 10 days ago that are just finishing colonizing.
In your opinion which is better to use for g2g transfers? both are comparable visually and look very clean.

Nothing wrong with a 2 week old jar especially since if it's just being used to g2g, probably more loss of vigor from a g2 then with a 2 week old jar, either way they'd both be perfectly fine IMO

What do G1, G2, etc. mean? Successive jar to jar transfers or something else? (Tried search but only found ppl using not explaining the terms.)

no, when do you decide to use a g1 as spawn instead of as a master for subsequent g2g transfer...

generations. a g1 is a master jar usually knocked up with agar. anything it gets transfered to is g2, anything THAT gets transfered to is g3 etc

I like an old g1 myself. Seems like the longer the jars colonize, the more punch they pack when birthing. Totally anecdotal, however
