Do you think America is WAY behind on this one? In many cases you cant even get a proper job without internet access.

I think that's a bit of a stretch. Find me someone with 0 access to internet in the United States and I think I'd be able to direct them to the nearest library, starbucks (joke) or local/state/federal government subsidized mobile phone plan, and if all else fails there are charities that do the same.
Right to internet access is more prescient of an issue when you live in an oppressed region with no access to outside communication, or if you live in an area that's in poverty and doesn't have infrastructure to connect outside your village, and therefore have no access to international markets, information or resources.

So people need to travel to the areas with "free" internet to be on the same level as the people that can afford to have the internet in their hands?
As the timeline continues...are you sure?

If you're disabled, a senior or are financially under the poverty line, resources exist which enable anyone to receive mobile and broadband data. Nearly every state in the US has a program which can assist in this, and charities also cross assist in this as well. I guarantee you that if you find me a person without access to a mobile phone plan, I can point them in the right direction, unless by some happenstance they live in a complete dead zone where it's not economically feasible to build an entire cell tower for one or two end users who have setup lives far away from most utilities to begin with.
If you are financially and physically capable of accessing the internet on your own account, it's not exactly a violation of your rights to insist you do so to lessen the financial burden on the programs providing free usage, however I think you could still find access without issue if that was the case.
You can get free phones through subsidies, hardware is not exactly a barrier. If requiring a laptop for work, charities may even provide used hardware for no cost. All I'm saying is that internet as a human right isn't an issue in the United States, because everyone can actually access it. The issue is very real in places in the world where the infrastructure to connect literally doesn't exist.

The Unabomber was right. Internet and technology is evil and most likely the work of the devil...

Patrickkn nice. These types of posts are exactly why I gave you 5 groovy shrooms. Good post and thanks for schooling me.
That being said why all the beurocracy? Why all the hoops to jump through? I used to have to go to places with public wifi to get the internet and I have never heard of these public services you mentioned at the time. That's crazy.

Universal wifi should be a basic part of America’s infrastructure.

don't worry yall, they putting up 5g all over, and then they'll be having yall put neurolinks into you brain; and then they'll have free wifi, but they'll probably increase your taxes to pay for it.
nah but the idea of free wifi is cool. but in America it practically already is. just go to a number of food joints and they got it.
