I was all hot to trot for 17x100mm Cultubes but someone commented they like 20mm now. So then after looking at all the options, I'm sooo confused! 1. 17x100mm Cultubes PP Cap 500ea $121 2. 20x125mm Pyrex Vista, screw cap 50ea. $120 3. 25x150mm Pyrex Vista, screw cap 50ea. $152

I got 30x115mm PP thinking they'd be easier to work with but now I think they take up too much space for what they do. I'd get 17x100mm PP (though probably not 500pcs). Glass seems overkill price-wise and may even perform worse (breakable, heavier, etc.).

Yes 500 is about 25 cents each, but I should live so long! 🤣 And that's the minimum order that I have found.

Well at 25 cents ea. maybe I don't have to clean them and just toss 'em! I mean I saw on Youtube someone using Acetone. I recall that can lead to leukemia. And other chemicals, uh, that I don't have in the lab here. So how do all ya'all clean those skanky dirty slants!

I use the cheap ass plastic ones from amazon I think they are 25mm. To washes I just use a little soaps water and a finger lol. It works.
I just found some old ass ones I made up years ago in a box still uncontaminated. I'm going to dump them and make new ones soon I just microwave without the cap on then dump and rinse as described above then they are ready to go again.

I didn't need to clean mine yet, but... just brush & water? Some alcohol if there are stubborn bits? PP is easy to clean. You'll sterilize it in the PC after anyway.
Checked google scholar for "leukemia acetone" and there doesn't seem to be a known link? Quote:
This systematic review says: Most epidemiological studies on occupational exposure to organic solvents other from Benzene have not investigated exposure to each compound separately, therefore the effect of co-exposure to benzene in the observed excess risk of leukemia could not be ruled out [citations]. In a single study where exposure to organic solvents (Toluene, Hexane, Acetone, and Methyl-ethyl-ketone) was investigated independently from Benzene, no significantly increased risk of leukemia has been observed among the exposed workers [citations].

Ha ha, I'll have to measure my finger!
Well that was revealing! My finger is 19mm x 76mm ! Sounds too short for a good slant. So I ain't gettin to the bottom of it anytime soon! LOL

Oh son of a gun! Leukemia, well that's what I heard as a surfer back in the 60s. We were all messing with fiberglass and acetone, and prolly because it was California there was a scare AND it was before I learned to fact check anything. The internet is truly wonderful. Anyway thankyou for the clarification. I'll use acetone with less trepidation now!

Ok, they're hot dogs, but I haven't lost it, yet! Turns out 25mm x 150mm tubes would be too tall for a Qrt Mason jar. The 20mm x 125mm would fit great for PCing. So, end of story, I can get 50 Pyrex Vist 20mm x 125mm for $120 sent here to Puerto Rico. Where I can't even get less than 500 Petri dishes!
Oh, now I found Amazon France will ship things I need so... 50ml Centrifuge Tube, PP Material, Printed Graduation, Blue Cap, Skirted Conical Bottom, No-Leak, Non-Sterile, Karter Scientific 208J2 (Pack 50) looks like the current winner for around $30 w/shipping. That saves me $100 smackers Bruddha! Even getting petries!
I think I'm talking to myself, but I'm having a good time! LOL
