I have my doubts about misting, I feel they looked healthier (more white/fluffier) before. Anyone feel the same?

I'm sure misting must be good since it's used by so many, but something about dampening that fluffy myc is a bit sad, oh well. They look like they aren't minding it.
here's some pics from tonight:

They're also under a 16/8 light schedule and with no heat at night (60s-40sF), is there any problem with those conditions?

I think I may have too much FAE, and the tub is drying out to the point where the mycelium is losing its vibrancy, the colonized substrate is receding from the edges of the tub it is in and looks like it's lost about 10 percent of it's original volume, I sprayed some water onto to help slow the evaporating water but I think the main problem is to many holes in the FC, upwards of 50-100.
should I tape these holes shut to an extent and what can I do to make sure this cake doesn't end up dying on me.
I appreciate all comments, just some quick insight would really be helpful.
I'll try to get pics up later to better show how it's looking.

I placed the fruiting chamber inside the same kind of container (I have a pack of 3) without holes so now the FAE is minimal and I think better for raising the humidity and helping the tub out from not drying out.
Will update when signs of positive change occur.

Looks really wet tbh. Did you give it a mega-misting before taking the pic?
Some shrinkage is to be expected. Surface looks good to me, and that would dry out before anything else. FAE should only be restricted if you can’t maintain RH. Otherwise, the more the marrier. It boosts growth and helps prevent contams.Quote:

Didn’t see this before. Cold temps won’t ruin your grow, but 40-60F will stall the shit out of it.

I had just misted it, it seems to dry out at a rate which will undermine the water source for the incoming flush, but they seem to do well, pins are growing slowly.

Still growing, but now away from intense light, with slower air flow which should help with keeping up humidity.

Looks good!
Might want to read this post to optimized surface conditions for even more sexy shroomies.

Your surface looks a little dry
, I've been wondering ways to help with keeping the moisture up.

Those pics are beautiful! Honestly the best results I get are from set and forget projects, no hole monos are such little work, nothing special and amazing results (clean, hydrated, no contams). BOD's Easy AF UnBODified Monotub TEK (No Holes No Polyfil, type that in the search, it took out so much unnecessary work

That is where the moisture is being drawn in from the trays side, the substrate is thirsty and dry.

I’m misting at least once per day, and I started with pretty wet coco coir, so the evaporations effect on the volume of sub is dramatic, it doesn’t feel dry but I think it could use some more hydration, but I’m not sure how best to go about it. I think pins are coming in more then they were so I guess it’s going well enough for now.
