revitalizing an old isolate
    #26343279 - 11/24/19 07:22 PM (4 years, 2 months ago)

Hey folks,
I've been busy doing other things for a couple of years but I'm getting back into growing some oysters and a few other species. The thing is that I've got some plates I made with my isolates that I worked pretty hard on two years ago and I'd like to use them if possible. They've been in the fridge, wrapped in plastic, paper towels and more plastic to prevent temperature swings and condensation. To my eye they look fine, no contams, no leathery texture, no aborted pins etc. I'm wondering if I can use these to start new plates, or if I should toss them out and just start over with new cultures from my old spore syringes, which have also been in the fridge with my plates for the last 2 years.
    Thanks for your help everyone,
    Happy shrooming
