High blood pressure

I have really good relationship with my Mum and always been honest with her and told her about my experiences with psychodelics etc. Shes 58 and never tried anything except alcohol, smoked couple times weed and bump of coke once in her life. Although she said shes curious and possibly would like to try mushrooms or ecstasy. She is overall healthy, but she has high blood pressure and takes Amlopidine for it. Would it be safe for her to try small dose of liberty caps or mdma? Maybe someone has some knowledge about high blood pressure and psychodelics. Thank You kindly

What do you mean you can't ask your doctor? Of course you can and you really should. If you're worried they're going to narc on you, they won't. I'd probably avoid the mandy, go ahead with the boomers though.

I don’t think it’s the doctor going to the cops, it’s the doctor putting it in your medical records is the problem.

Exactly, would probably write in medical recorthat this old, crazy lady wants to take illegal substances haha. Plus in uk GP uses Google to find answers so I dont think they will really know themselves. Her GP is old, grumpy man who never smiles and blames everything on smoking.

I'm sorry but that's a delusional response, tell me the effect it has being on a private record? And if you've decided its google and nothing learnt, google it yourself and go be happy. Take off the tin foil hat, suck it up and actually talk to your docotr! Christ I've told mine everything, when I got nicked last year and had to deal with probation and they asked any drugs, I gave them a list longer than they had space for. TL;DR - tell your doctor!

Ok, thank you for your comment and point of view. Knowing this doctor as I was his patient before as well, I know hes old fashioned and probably would just say it's not safe without more explanation. I do wish we could freely discuss it but this isn't always a case. I'm glad you could talk about this with your doctor tho.

You're putting assumptions before health, the only way you'll know is to find out, they are they to help you, I know the leap of faith is terrifying. Personally I'd talk to them, and if you get a half assed response, switch GP, one that is actually looking out for your best interests.

Doctors have told me straight up false information, so what I would do is get on google and other forums and see what others have said about it, but don't just read a few things and come to a conclusion, try to come to an actual understanding of what can happen and what factors are involved.

You don’t know how medical records work in the US. Please educate yourself before you ridicule somebody publicly.

Discussing this with her current GP isn't really an option. We could consider changing gp or using one of them online, private doctor services. I've never used it before, but I know someone who does and recommend it. Also if I was putting assumptions before health I wouldn't try to find out first if it's safe to take psychodelics with high blood pressure.
LittleDipster that's what I'm doing, been reading from different sources, thinking about her health, lifestyle, taking in factor what she tried before and how it affected her, possible risks involved etc. Thank You
Please do not think, that I'm expecting strangers from forum to give me guarantee that this is safe to do so. I'm looking more for people with similar experiences and possibly more knowledge about this matter. Thanks.

MDMA can negate the anti hypertensive effects of amlodipine.
Psilocybin can also increase blood pressure, but I don't believe it's quite as severe as MDMA.
If you can't talk to your gp, I would consider talking to a pharmacist; while they may not be as qualified to speak as to whether or not it is safe for your mom to indulge, I would imagine they'd be aware of any serious drug interactions.
