Are you kidding me fam? Frusciante is life, I was so stoked to see your post. Everyone check out all of his work you can't go wrong. If you don't know John Frusciante was the guitarist for the Red Hot Chili Peppers for much of of their long career.
He is a musical mastermind with a prolific solo catalog as well as his work with the Chili's His range and creativity are unparalleled and he holds the place in my heart as my greatest musical mind ever. He is also a fascinating person, he is so special to me his work is so powerful and intense and has had so much impact in all aspects of my life and just helps me his work has saved my life countless times.
He also makes electronic music now. Thanks for the post
I LOVE every single song of his but here are a few to start you off:

Under the bridge is one of the best songs. Almost brings a tear to my eye every time I hear it. I saw the chili peppers 2 years ago they still play a great show

ive never seen RHCP live ... this past summer i took some lsd with friends and as the sun was coming up and i was coming down, i remembered the RHCP were live-streaming a concert in Egypt, in front of the Giza pyramid.
that was a badass show to watch while still glowing

Hank Williams to N.W.A., lol. Primarily a lot of punk music, but I like a lot of different stuff. Real big on Roy Orbison, Pink Floyd of course, Tool/APC/Puscifer, Roxy Music, Joni Mitchell, Echo & the Bunnymen, and just about anything 80's. I'm sure I'm leaving out some big ones.

I couldn't really say. I think rap is just fun music to jam (some not all), and NWA happens to be my latest interest. Plus Ice Cube, and their history kind of helps.

What the hell am I hearing on that 3rd song? LOL!
While I haven't really.listened to much of his solo recordings , I have always been a big fan of his from the Chilli Pepper days.
His way of taking the most simple of a Melody line and make it sound so good has always astounded me.

that is the opening track on his album entitled "smile from the streets you hold". When John returned to the peppers in 1998, he had all copies of that album pulled from shelves. he admits to releasing that album primarily for drug money as he was still in the grips of addiction.
i know for the average peppers fan that album can seem difficult to listen to, but its really impressive to me listening to such raw, unfiltered creativity.
JF became close friends with River Pheonix and was doing drugs with him the night he died outside on the sidewalk of the VIPER ROOM (owned by johnny depp at the time).
the video above is a "documentary" that Depp and Gibby Haynes (butthole surfers) made in 1993 showing John's house and his chaotic lifestyle.
that house would later burn to the ground along with John's vintage guitar collection and volumes of irreplaceable home recordings.
