does cobweb prefer plastic?

faced a lot of contamination with my first try and i'm only making this post to point out something I noticed and couldn't find out why. but I believe cobweb does better in plastic. almost all of my plastic containers got massive cobweb everywhere, now I messed everything up so this isn't a perfect experiment by any means, but jars had faced green, yellow, black, red, and blue contams but only plastic containers had cobweb, and almost cobweb only. does anyone have maybe a explanation or hypothesis why cobweb is seeming to thrive in plastic? (as well all the pictures I saw of cobweb were in plastic containers)

I wana know why contamination prefers your method of sterilisation

as I said, I messed everyhthing up. everything was contammed. my mistake was not putting any air filters on (don't make fun of me ik im dumb ) and I allowed a few contammed jars to grow out so I could notice different types of contams. but no jars had cobweb while any plastic container I tried had it everywhere.

This is much unfortunate, smart to watch the contamination so you know what it looks like mind...
I think you need to revise your practice. I’ve looked through your posts and it appears you are not following a standard procedure. You’re taking bits out of here putting them in there etc all from contaminated and uncolonised spawn jars. Creating an unsterile environment by opening things up and checking them would be a problem but by the looks of things I don’t think a filter patch is your main problem. If the lack of a filter patch was the problem then my jars of agar would contaminate. You technique is and it all starts at sterilisation.
For example as is with me at my earlier days I had inoculated jars of grain in open air with a syringe and had less problems than yourself
Im thinking It’s also backward to think an airtight seal is letting stuff like spores in to a sterilised medium while it doesn’t have a filter patch. Doesn’t make sense. Unless I’ve misunderstood you somewhere along the line
My advise is to read more and learn what you don’t know and the best way would be to listen to people who have did all the messing about so you don’t have to.
As they say it’s not rocket science...It really is easy once your grasp it
Good luck

thank you very much and yes i have had to do a lot of revising. but i beleive my main problem was i just had widemouths with 4 holes at the top. no filter and just inoculated. it was sucking air in everyday, and so it had no chance by the time i realised i messed up. and yes i was opening them to check. honestly i was misled through a lot of youtube information i think, and i just rushed through trying to do this and im sorry but what thinking is backwards? and are you saying my problem isn't the filter patch? but rather how i sterelized it? because i just crock pot my brf jars at 212-250 for 90 minutes. i've read this can work and although i shouldn't go to a crockpot tek as a begginer. i live with my mom
Edit: im realising im just stuck on how i will apply an air filter to jars, i need to sterelize better, but i think ive got that down

Few layers of micro pore tape over the holes will do maybe four or five layers and keep the top two longer so you can peel them back to inject through the remaining layers, then recover. Torch that needle first too. And put that tinfoil cover back on
I’m unfamiliar with a crockpot, I use a pressure cooker

thank you so much that makes it so much simpilar, i kept getting confused by seeing other jars. and the tin foil cover won't restric the airflow, will the tin foil help with keeping contams out?
edit: difference between crockpot and PC is that crock pots can't build up Pressure to high,

BRF jars don't need an air filter if they're done properly with a dry vermiculite layer on top. I don't why you'd be getting a different mold in them but I would guess there's some other difference than just being plastic. Like if you inoculated all the plastic ones first or last you could have cross contaminated them during the inoculation.

but woudnlt air exchange as well as the verm layer both help keep contams out
