Hi all,
Long time lurker, first time poster, always been very reluctant, but today I am at my wit's end; so very grateful to this community for all that I've learned.
These are my first tubs (64qt), I wanted to make sure I got the entire process leading up to fruiting dialed before attempting the fruiting process.
Everything was going fantastic, then this morning I checked my tubs and noticed some very weird symptoms across two of my three (current) tubs that tell me there's something I'm not understanding. In the corner, I can't tell if it's contamination.. lack of FAE.. room conditions.. etc. Absolutely heart-broken right now.
Monotubs are bodhisatta's unmodified tubs. Coco-coir was prepared using bodhisatta's method as well. Agar cultures (MS) were clean, WBS spawned to coco at about 1:1 ratio. I misted for the first little while, keeping top of the substrate 'dewy' until pins were about 1 inch in height. My RH is around 35% (in the room). My tubs are stacked on shelves against a wall.
There have been no aborts - lots of sidepins though. There's sidepins even around the area of the corner. If it's contamination, do I just cut it out and continue fruiting?
If someone could please advise me as to what is happening (and why at the corners of two tubs), and what to do, that would be immensely appreciated.
Thank you so much

First of all dont be heart broken, you’re far enough along in fruiting that you’ll be able to get fruits.
Secondly we’rengonna need better pics or description of what you’re concerned with, if its just the “puffiness” of the myc thats a sign or minor bacteria which is common in fruiting,
Hard to be sure from pic but if its just a little discolored and kinda blue its from drying out, 35% rh is pretty low, and corners are usually the first to show signs of drying.

You have fruits. That’s success. They are leaning pretty hard, what is the lighting like for the tub? They have small dark caps, could be from the substrate being too wet. At this point just let it ride for this flush. Congrats!

Ayeplus, thank you for your input! The reassuring words help ease my catastrophic thinking a lot. Granted that it develops into bacteria, what would be the way to go about it? Can I cut it out and discard? The corners are what I'm concerned with - I think you may be right that it is bruising from drying out or maybe from misting when I lift the lid a little to give a few sprits. If it gets any worse, I'll be sure to upload some more photos. I've dealt with trich in mycobags before, but this didn't quite look like it. Worst case, I'll clone the biggest, baddest ones for my next attempts.
Rickyswamps, my lighting in the room is a drop-ceiling light in the middle of the room that's 2x4 with 2 T12's at 3000K. Funny you noticed the lean.. I was curious if that was in response to the light or the fungi's attempt to distance itself from what I thought was the botched corner.
I'll set them and forget them and see how they go - I'll update accordingly !

Its probably just bruising and as far as bacteria goes nothing to be done, if its dry thats probably all it is, i wouldnt mist any more but if the sub starts to shrink pouring 30 ml or so of water down the side might be beneficial.

For a first grow, you're doing great. All these pics you see of canopies so thick you can hardly believe it aren't the norm as far as I can tell from my growing efforts.
I hazard to say what you've got there is complete success. It could be better, and if you keep at it, you'll get some grows that are better. Don't be down on what you've got there.

Just myc reaching up for air, nothing serious. Increase fae a bit.
When myc leaps off of a two dimensional surface, it's a pretty good indicator that there's a competitor hiding out; that's not what's occurring here.
Typically when you have a bacterial contamination you'll see metabolites as well as areas that just dont want to colonize.
When contamination occurs(and it will) take your tub outside, harvest what you can, and throw it in the graveyard. Trying to perform surgery on a contaminated sub is a fools game.
The overwhelming majority of fungal contaminants come from unclean spawn; if a contamination is showing in one area, it's a good indicator that it's meshed throughout the substrate.
