possible shrimp of the woods and hedgehog?

Sorry guys I don't know habitat or substrate friend of mine picked them. I really have to download the manual to my camera this is embarrassing.
I think the white one is a shrimp of the woods and cream colored one is a hedgehog, the underside is spikes. If these are correct guesses the white one is a bit soft it gives when you press, you guys think its still good to eat? Appreciate the help im downloading camera manual while I wait for responses.

I'd never even heard of a 'shrimp of the woods' before seeing this, so nothing to say there...
as far as the reported hedgehog goes.... your gill shot, which would positively ID this is sooooooo out of focus that it's impossible to tell. I mean it looks like it probably is, if it's got teeth on there it is... but I really can't see them.

I'm most familiar with the species found in the Pacific Northwest - those found in other parts of the world may vary considerably, so always do your own research to find out what grows in your area and what lookalikes you need to be aware of. Understand that many mushroom species cannot be 100% reliably identified by photographs alone, even by an expert, so it may not be possible to go beyond suggesting a probable genus.

He refers to Entoloma abortivum, which I guess is possible here but we'll need way better pictures and more details.

Yeah, that's a hedgehog. I'd say, as it seems to have no signs of an umbilicus, it's likely a fairly small Hydnum repandum

Can confirm Entoloma abortivum are out in the eastern US. I ate a pound plus of them tonight with a venison tenderloin

Browned/caramelized in salted butter with a lil onion and garlic, they're delightful. Top six fungus edible ime
Edit: go light on the onion and garlic, tho. They're just to round out the flavor, not overpower the fungus. Browning the E. abortivum really develops the flavor.

Find areas infected by honey mushrooms: 15 to 50 year old hardwood forests with intermittent dead trees which give no outward appearance of why they should be dead; they're likely infected by armillaria.
I find them most often in the leaf litter from 6 inches to 15 feet from the base of living (or at least still standing) trees. When you find one, stop and look carefully because chances are there are more hiding in the fall leaves.
If you find any Armillaria or Entoloma, you should also slow down and look harder at that point because, again, the aborted version may be hiding nearby.
If you find a patch, there's a good chance they'll grow again in that same vici city next year. I've been dipping into the same ~2 acre area for five years now, each autumn.
Best of luck!

Found these ones in central New York, early October. The rest of the pictures are blurry, and I didn't pick any because I realized my hands were in the poison ivy that surrounded them. I think I've built up some tolerance to it, but I'm still not interested in eating it.
Also, I don't know exactly what species hedgehog mushrooms are, but maybe this is one?
IDK if it's even close to be honest, I don't feel like looking it up right now.

The timing makes sense, uzi. Central NY in early OCT, central VA in early to mid NOV, and just starting in GA. You likely could've just washed them off and been good to go, but I hear you on not liking the possibility of eating urushiol. Fuck that.
Have you had em before? If so, ever eat the Entoloma parent?

Unless you're in the northern mountains of GA, your abortivum season should just be ramping up.
