question about BRF cakes

For thanksgiving I will be going home for 9 days. Would it be possible to not have the cakes dry out while I am gone and have them still produce good sized fruits? I was thinking that putting micropore tape on all the holes on the SGFC, making sure the perlite was nice and wet, and giving the walls a heavy misting before I leave would be adequate. The fruits maturing and dropping spores in the fruiting chamber is not a concern of mine but rather if the fruits will still be good sized. Has anyone left their BRF cakes for a while and if so how did you leave them and what did you come back to? Also if anyone has some suggestions of stuff to try out that will be greatly appreciated. I would take them home since my family does not care that I grow mushrooms but I have a small coupe sports car and no room to transport them and my pets together, otherwise I would be taking them with me.

9 days is a pretty long time. Make sure u also bottom water too.
Id say your plan is pretty good just add the bottom watering dishes to the cakes as well.

Yeah it certainly is not ideal but I would rather spend quality time with my family. How would you suggest making bottom watering pans? I don't have much room in my SGFC, I will include a picture. Also, wouldn't the pans of stagnant water be an invitation for bacteria? Or is that just a risk I will have to take with being gone for so long. They are on their first flush so I would like to be able to get one or two more flushes out of them and bacterial contamination would ruin that for me.

U dont have to worry about infections from standing water. It will be gone in a couple days anyway. I make my little pans from tinfoil. Take a square piece of foil and fold the corners in a round circle type pattern to make a pan shape. Its pretty easy.

I'll do that. Is it fine to use tap water or should I use distilled water?

Maybe try and set up a timer to a mister or a little drip system for bottom water
