Sober for a year now....Black Russians, White Russians, and Bloody Mary's.
I was a vodka man.
I had a favorite, a variation of a dirty martini.
1) Cook a nice cut of steak, little bit of salt/pepper, medium rare.
2) Let cool, save blood and mix with vodka

Yeah. For some reason one craves meat when drinking. I try to stay off of it, just makes me feel shittier and the body is a chemical lab basically. So I guess it is what you are used to and how effects your body.
Main thing is salt and water. I go on benders with pills for 2 weeks. Not advice, consult your local physician, but have learned what to do.
Made me laugh, Hunter S. Thompson reading about him. He ordered 5 margaritas at a restaurant sitting at a table at once and the waitress asked him, when is your company arriving? And this was in the morning and he just said, these are all for me.
What Rolling Stone would pay for during those days.
And his quote, Depp loved, FUCK YOU I AM RICH! Makes me laugh.

Exercise. Eating healthy. Avoiding drugs, including but not limited to sugar, salt, nicotine and alcohol. Alcohol can be a good time but meh. Pill form is much more convenient.
But eat right stay fit die anyways right? On you.

B-vitamins are essential too.
I regularly take 2-3 grams of B12 following a NO2 binge because the gas will completely zap your body's store of B12. Similarly with alcohol, long term drinking results in lower than average B12 levels, it ALL has to do with certain drugs/compounds that fuck with how your body recycles methionine (alcohol, nitrous oxide, and many other compounds do this). The long term effect is nerve/neuronal damage as improper methionine recycling will eventually result in a "thinning" of myelin, which in turn reduces conduction efficiency throughout the nervous system.
That's what those "prevent a hangover" supplements are, just plenty of B-vitamins... and they don't work 100% anyway.
It wouldn't be a bad idea for a mixer or juice brand to market a vitamin-supplemented product for the...uhhh...health conscious alcoholic..

Yeah, have used it as a mixer before when I am out of other things. Not bad but not good either IMO. Made me laugh when I was drinking one that was just Gatorade at a park in SLC. And just sitting there reading those news they put in the bins for free to kill some time.
Two cops in the middle of the day came up to me and had a K-9 that sniffed me up and down. And they acted all fake, and they were wearing uniforms. Keep in mind, this is Utah. All I did was sit there.
And then they took the bottle and said, "oh, it is just Gatorade", he is just friendly. And this is downtown. Seriously, Utah is becoming North Korea. You will never find such phoniness as Utah, such fake people. Saints? Right.

Don't say you ever have a drink and drive. You will be crucified. They set the bar in Utah at 5 and people are worried about having a glass of wine and getting a dui.
I used to take a bottle of 101 turkey and drive to Vegas. Wouldn't do it anymore but, if you are in the middle of the desert who gives a fuck?

Yeah. And drive as fast as one wants to. I was doing 120 in a CRX back then. Not a chance in hell I would do it now. I mean, who gives a fuck how fast you are driving in the desert. No one.
If you come up on a car you slow down. The Salt Flats here, many have gone to extremes.

Shit man. Just be careful if every going through Barstow. Got the biggest ticket in my life for over 400 hundred and shit towns will take advantage everyway they can for money. They have brown cars and it looks like a suitcase on top of their car but it is a siren.
They followed me to get every infraction they could for miles on end. They brought in a dog. They ripped off my interior because looking for drugs. Was on Peyote and it just felt like a dream and I felt no nervousness.
My friend was freaking out because he had pot hidden away in some kind of knick knack he put in but they didn't find it. Guessing the dog didn't because it was such a small amount.
I had warrents at the time, this was over a decade ago and used my twins D.L. So after an hour they let us go with the 400 plus ticket. I made it up to my brother who was pissed as hell. But peyote, it is like a flow, fear does not enter with things that are bullshit has been my experience.
But yeah, just brewed peyote tea for the journey and no wild turkey on this one. On the same road by myself a cop, like leaving las vegas but not on a motorcycle pulled to the left and stared at me. I looked at him back and just kept driving.
They want fear and cowardice. No.

Word up dope story. I took a little trip with you on that one. I feel you on the cops, a lot are egotistical fucks; as for the peyote dang man I want some, but something tells me they'd be a pain to get here in Hawaii, unless I actually knew some legit people; still pretty new to this island in particular so we'll see. I'd try and grow the cactus but I live in a wet ass area of the island, plus I heard they take years to grow yah

Lol. Yes, it takes forever to grow and they are harvesting it up to non sustainable levels in Arizona. Had a Native American friend that was cool and we hung out quite a bit. Strange cactus. It really does feel like one is in a dream in waking life.
On my festive decorated 12th beer of Budweiser. Am not a rich man but still won't go to the depths of the beer ends when I take care of bills and kitty and it is ok by me. Waiting for the day when mushrooms are legal to buy at a store. Hopefully all plants will be in time and fungi.
